Best Mesh Hood for M8??

Have a 2010 M8 SP LE and wanted to know what the best fitting most accomodating mesh hood is? I guess I know of Skinz and Diamond S, but are there anymore out there? Are there any products that let you mount your gauge pod on the handle bars or not on the hood? I know Diamond S makes a gauge attachment for their hoods but I think they look like *** IMO and would like a different solution.

where does the airbox suck air w a mesh hood, any pics?
id hate to screw up a good powder sled...

My diamond s with their intake, has an intake that goes straight down the center of the hood with a round hole to hook up the accordian hose directly to. The intake to outside is right in front of the handle bars with the same mesh covering it. It works very well. I had a homemade intake on the stock hood that worked well (it was some flexible dryer hose that came out behind the windshield, and the diamond s works much better. I get a lot less bog in the deep snow with it than the homemade one I had on the stocker. The hood itself isn't the best fit, but the function and durability are much better than you'd think. R&M makes a mesh hood also that lets you use the stock windshield, but I don't know anything more about it other than what the website says (no personal experience with it). www.rmproducts.info

Thanks fellas.

I def. like the look of the Diamond S better than that of the skinz hood. What issues are guys having with the Diamond S? Is it final fitment to the sled or the fitting of the fabric over the frame?

It is the final fit to the sled. The hood leaves some pretty good gaps near your knees and it doesn't conform real good to the plastic around the handle bars. The other thing is that you have to make your own mounting system to hold it to the sled. The best is to just buy some rubber hood straps to put on the front of the sled by the bumper, and then just put a couple bolts in the back by your legs, so your stock rubber hold down straps have something to hook to. The fabric wrap around the frame is done very well, and you'd be surprised how durable it is. I've rubbed up against a lot of trees and haven't torn it yet. The mesh he uses is awesome also, it has pretty big holes for air flow, but you won't believe how well it keeps the snow out. Even in light fluffy powder, it doesn't go thru the mesh for some reason. It's well worth the few hassles you have to deal with to make it work the way you want it.

Skinz works great no gaps no snow under the hood.....made my own speedo and light mount for the bars works great.
