Best Hot Springs?

Haven't been in 10 years...but Strawberry hot springs http://www.strawberryhotsprings.com/2005/ , north of the boat is a cool natural spring area. Small river running by it for a cold water blast. Hot water seeping out of the sheer rock wall above. Pools are all really nice and look kinda natural perched next to the river. Had some real hot spots and smaller pools and one big pool. Doesn't stink like rotten eggs either (low sulfer in water). Had several cabins for rent along the river. Seemed to be a pretty well kept place, with a real crotchety caretaker that didn't put up with no chit! And close to riding. Crazy road getting to the spring though!

Bunch of bathtubs in mud up in North park too if you know where they are:D

The one in Hot Sulpher Springs is nice. Not too crowded, they even have some private gated pools that you and the little lady can "enjoy";);) The rest of the pools are separated from the ones that the kids use, so you can have some peace and quiet.

Bushmaster - LOL! Strawberry is great, and the owner used to do all of these odd-ball projects around the grounds. One of them was a rock-enclosed "massage" room, but it had a large window that opened up to a very inviting picnic table - which proved to be rather popular until he figured out why massage business was not taking off.

;-)

MD.

Pagosa Springs is very good, down by Wolf Creek Pass, which just happens to have huge Snotel numbers right now.

X 2 on Hot Sulphur, Town of Ouray as a great pool and the grand daddy of hot springs pool in Glenwood Springs. Oh yeah Steamboat Springs has a cool water slide. Is Strawberry still topless after 10:00?:)

Pagosa Springs got voted the best hot springs in Colorado a few years ago by some magazine.

I also like Glenwood Springs - but its a huge mega pool type but still nice.

and Ouray is pretty good also - big pool type but lots to look at.

The locals call Glenwood Springs the Bay of Pigs. Every time you drive by all you see is bodies and no water.

A couple years back I was hunting north or Alamosa near Valley View Springs. We got our Elk pretty easy, (Not hard when you sit on a center pivot over Alfalfa), so decided to check out the Hot Springs. First word of wisdom, do not wear Hunter Orange to Valley View. A few people said some things, but for the most part everyone was pretty cool. Second point is one feels like Jeremiah Johnson hunting for pelts there. Let’s just say the place is very natural. Do they have parking for a four place enclosed?
I'd stop by again, need to hit some of that SoCo snow anyhow.

Ha your right, but lots of women and milf's to see last time I was there!

also, I guess I like Glenwood as my dad and uncle got thrown out - for jumping off the roof there in the 1950's...

Was more than topless 10 years ago:eek: at night when the kids are gone. Most families head out before sundown. The caretaker really kept a lid on the yapes too  Quiet place for the most part and low creepiness factor. lol Bring the GF for a nice W/E. Hope ya like naked!

What about Indian Hot Springs in Idaho Spgs!? It's ok....a lot is built right into the mountain side......

I guess I like it because it's right next to TommyKnocker BREWERY!

:D

I've never been to the Idaho Springs pool.

Glenwood is a large pool as other mentioned, mostly kids and old people.

Pagosa Springs has been my favorite by far. Super clean, relaxing. I like the option to go to smaller tubs that are different temperatures. They have one part that runs down into the river so that you get both cold and hot (warm!) at the same time. I noticed they were always checking the water's PH levels etc, which is nice to know since bacteria and disease spread so quickly in the hot spring water.

Mt Princeton has pools by the river and new cabins. Very nice. Cottonwood has pools so they are nice also. Hot Sulpher is one of my favorites. Indian Springs is kink of weird. Not very hot pool. The caves are seperated for men and women.

For a great getaway. OHO CALIENTE in NM. hwy 285 going to Santa Fe.
