Thinking of getting a new GPS, mostly likely a Garmin, and mounting it on my new Summit. I have an older etrex but have had problems with the screen "freezing" in sub zero temps when it is in my outer pocket. Are newer models such as the 60CS or Colorado better in this regard?

I have the Rhino 530, works good, lots of info, Talk feature works nice, only for all the features to work, others in your group need to have one also, all the rhinos will work together. Otherwise Garmin 60 works real good, way more memory for maps etc. the etrex models work good also, it's nice to have trail maps of riding areas, with routes to truck etc. Any Gps receiver will work well, learn how to use it, some are easier than others to operate, ask those out riding what they use, and make your decision from there
I'm on my 2nd Rino 530. The 1st one, the screen bunged up and I sent it in for repair and they sent me a new one. The replacement one, the mic screwed up on the radio part. Have to send this one back this summer. Great unit when working. Must just be bad luck on my part.
RHINO'S RULE!! You know where everyone is when the push the button. However, I disagree on the rechargable units. If you run out of battery and your lost or hurt, your dead.
there is a rhino 530 on top of skyline ridge. some dude high marked the hill and hit a tree on the turn out. when he hit the tree hit ripped of his neck and couldn't get back there the pow was so deep and the started to slide so we left it up ther and got the hell out
