Best Goggles

Been trying to find some reviews or feedback on the best goggles out there for field of vision and anti-fog, there are no discussions in the goggles catagory forum. Currently i use Scott 89Xi goggles with the LS lenses and have been good, but they lack good side vision. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I like the clarity of the 509 polarized sinister goggles, but like the look, and field of vision better on the 509 aviators. Hopefully they come out with a polarized aviator this year, if so that'll be the ticket IMO. With that said my top 3 goggles are the Sinister, Aviator and then the Scott 89xi's.

Edit: Just reread your post, the aviators definitly have better side vision than the scott's fyi.

I like the 509 unless ice buildup on the lens is a factor, than I use the AFX electrically heated goggles. They are not particularly well made but they really work.

509's. No competition. I run the sinisters and They are hands down the best goggles i've ever worn. I have yet to try the aviators, but I should be running a set this season.

How about the best goggle very us that wear glasses? Do the 509's work with goggles? I read their site and it says nothing about it except they are a really big lens. Has anyone tried the 509's with glasses, if so I would like to hear your thoughts

I used smith's for 2 years and bought 509 sinisters last year, and the 509's IN MY OPION are 10 times better. I have the polarized lenses and yellow. I thought my smith's were alright until i got the 509's. My 509's never fog or let powder in.

Habers with the Fog-Eliminator.....I've found nothing even close when it comes to fogging in wet conditions. Used to go through 3 sets of goggles (you name the brand I've tried it) in a ride, to using the same set of Habers with the Eliminator all day with VERY little to no fogging.

Awesome! Can't wait to try a set of Aviators for myself, they look like what i am looking for. Thanks to all that replied, been very helpful.

This fall we will be releasing a 509 specific anti-fog fan. It is licensed from haber, however we customized the mount to specifically fit both the 509 Sinisters and Aviators. The Haber Eliminator, while being a great product doesn't fit 509 goggles (yes you can jimmy rig it), so we worked with Haber to come out with a private label version that solves the mounting issues. These 509 Anti-Fog fans will be available exclusively from 509 and our dealers. Price is $65.

As for lenses, unfortunately we won't have a polarized aviator lens this year. But we are releasing a rose tint and fire mirror/rose tint. We are also releasing a pink aviator goggle and new Joe Parsons signature aviator.

On the sinister side, we are releasing a VERY cool "Black Ops" goggle that comes standard with a polarized smoke lens. Also releasing a polarized yellow lens, rose tint, and fire mirror/rose tint. One final release is the all new Chris Burandt signature series sinister, which he designed to his specs. This comes standard with his favorite lens, yellow tint.

That and alot more new gear coming out this fall (new helmets, jerseys, apparel, hats, and more)

no aviator polarized = to bad

is it a supplier issue ar is it still a design issue :present:

After a season on the 509 Aviator goggles... I really liked them... plus the lenss were easy to change out.

I have a box full of goggles, Oakley A-frame/wisdom/Crowbars, Scott 89xi, Smith, Spy, Dragon, Bolle and some others.

These are my favorite now.

Flat light days I really like the Yellow tint lens.

I hear they will have a powered-fan fog eliminator for this goggle this season.

Their sinister goggle Polarized lens was $39 last year... better price than the competition for their polarized lens.

I have the 509 Aviator Googles and have been using them for the last month in California Blue Bird Days.

Riding above the 9000 ft mark on super bright days... these goggles ROCK!!

I have the Bronze mirror lenses in there right now and these sukkas keep me happy. I have very sensitive eyes, and these don't let me down.

Some other great things about these goggles

The Strap is large enough to fit the helmet without stretching it too much AND it has a non slip silicone backing so the strap stays in place

I have very good field of vision to the sides with these

I'm a "head sweat" person and my eyes tear easily... These googles stayed fog free for me better than the 89Xi's that have. If anyone can fog a goggle its me and these did not let me down.

The replacement lenses are very affordable.

HaberVision offers several options RIGHT HERE

I think your best option is the HaberVision Optical Insert paired up with an Eliminator

Right now, we ship the insert to you. You then take it to your favorite/local optometrist (Wal-Mart, Lens Crafters, Local guy, etc) and have them insert lenses (usually between $40-$80).

Habervision is working on getting our lab to do this (I am a test mule). The biggest problem is a way to accurately get a PD (Pupil distance) reading to make the lenses. You generally need the frame (insert) to get a good reading.

The Ouzo does work for glasses, but they are a little bit of a larger goggle. Some might have some fitment issues on the helmet with these. They work on my helmet but it is tight. I really highly recommend the Insert so you can put it in one goggle to the next with changing light conditions. They fit in ALL HaberVision goggles with or without the Eliminator. They will probably fit other brands as well.

HaberVision is making and Eliminator fan for 509 this year, but I am also told that our new Eliminator will fit the 509 goggles as well.

You will want something without a lenses flash on it. Flash=Mirror coating
I recommend to most people the MXT SNOW (or Faro)

They are priced at $40. These are a great low priced option. They are not polarized and have no flash on the lenses. A few buddies of mine use these all the time, I use them for low light conditions.

FYI: Polarization will not make much of a difference in low light. Polarization REALLY shines (pun intended) in high light conditions. Polarization is used to removed "in-direct" light (we also know it as "glare"). In low light you really don't get much glare.

I encourage you to try the HaberVision goggles. I know our prices cannot be beat when comparing similar goggles (polarizes v Polarized, Non-polarized v non-polarized), the quality is top notch. Steve Haber has been in the optics business for over 30 years. If you try one of our products and you don't like it we will give you a full 100% refund or swap it out for another product.
Please feel free to call or PM me with questions. (970-310-0779)

Thanks for the reply, the thing that turns me off to Haber is the "member"(50% discount) non member(full retail) thing, and the snow MXT goggles don't seem to come with nose protection?
