Floats might be a little lighter, but they are only a step up from the POS walker evans. Never ridden the raptors, but i have seen them fall apart...
I have a lot of miles on both my sleds with Zbroz front ends with Raptor shocks. Amazing the transformation those combos did to both sleds. Plush!
I have many miles on both now, never an issue with the Raptors falling apart. They are quality made. Not sure what would be falling apart on them?

I love my X1's so much that I bought Zbroz a-arms for my 2013 sled. The 2013's have different shock/arm lengths so I reverted to 11/12 arms to keep my awesome X1's!

I had Exit X1's last year on my Pro, and am running Raptors this year. Both are way better than the stock shocks. I also like the Raptors much better than the Exits. More adjustability and better ride all around. I have been around plenty of them as well, and have never seen one "fall apart". My next sled will be running Raptors, they are that good.
raptors have 20 click positions, exits have 24. can also adjust preload on x1 just like the raptors...

Yup...but the clickers on the Raptors actually do something. I have had 2 sleds with Exit X1's and neither come close to the performing like the Raptors IMO. Like you said, you have never ridden the Raptors, I have owned both. You should try them out sometime, you might be surprised

EXIT's are a top of the line shock. I run their x1 on 2 sleds currently and ran them on 2 other sleds previously. The ride is extremely plush with great bottoming resistance. ZBROZ has a ride quality guarantee and they will change whatever necessary on the shocks to assure you are happy with them. There are 3 lines of EXIT shocks-
x0-base model featuring preload adjustment
x1-preload and compression adjustment

I use Elka Stage 5 front shocks on my 12 Pro Rmk. Ive also ran Raptors on my previous 10' Dragon and Zbroz X1 shocks on my 11 Pro Rmk. All three shocks perform remarkably well and each has its strengths but i chose to purchase the Elka's as i was told by a good friend of mine that races atv's and exclusively uses Elka shocks that i would reap the benefits from a far superior shock. Google Elka shocks and read what they are all about.
o rings give out, oil leaks, air deflates, have to readjust at altitude... carry a pump around. fill up a bucket of water, submerge the shox and see how much air is leaking out... at least they dont have a shaft that bends like the WE shox. but for the most part the floats dont hold up to serious abuse. we jump our sleds alot and the floats never lasted long. i had way better luck with the fox zero pros than the floats. but i would take floats over WE shox.
