Best front shock c to c length for mountain riding 07 rev

Thinking about getting some fox float on my 07 summit.
Looks like stock is 17 or 17 1/2 c to c. Any thoughts on what length would be best?

go shorter before longer if your a climber

I like climbing, but find boondocking more fun.

I would stay within the 16.5 to 17.5 range. I use the 16.5 and wish they were a smidge longer sometimes. Some depends on how your sled is setup.
