Best Dining/Lodging in Bozeman?

My wife and I are looking to get away for a three-day weekend at the end of May. So my question is, what are the best restaurants in Bozeman and where do you recommend staying?

I went to MSU for a year but that was way back in 2001 and I'm sure a lot has changed since then.

We are planning to drive down through Yellowstone one day and be back that evening. Haven't quite settled on a place to stay yet. Probably something in the $100-120 range.

My all-time favorite restaurants is McKenzie River Pizza so that is a given. What else do you guys recommend? We are a "meat and potatos" type of a couple, nothing fancy really. No roast duck with a mango salsa for me, haha. Any good steak places? Italian? Breakfast?

Thanks

Ate at the Outback there last week. Pretty good chunk of meat but I didn't care for those garlic mashed potatoes.

Also came through Yellowstone, still LOTS of snow. Quite a few choices for Motels, everything from the grocery cart road side lodge to some of your higher end digs. I stayed at the Comfort Inn right by Wally World, hot tub area was closed for construction, nice rooms and priced right.

The best steak west of anywhere is the Oasis in Manhattan just west of Bozo., if you go during peak dinner hours get a reservation, if you don't mind a little smoke you can eat in the bar area anytime just be sure to ask the barmaid for the dinner menu. The NY strip is awesome. The Bar 3 Barbecue on N. 7th. is good, they also have a spot in Belgrade.

Try the gormet gas station located about 3-5 miles south of fourcorners in the old mackenzie place. Haven't been there but have heard nothing but good things. The place is always packed so that is a good sign. Can't help with the lodging as I live here but good luck anyway. Enjoy your stay and go home and tell all your friends that Montana Sucks!!!!:beer;:face-icon-small-win

haha, word. Gourmet Gas Station is pretty good, but i think Daves Sushi downtown by rocky mountain roasting coffee is better.....

Come on in is very nice I worked on it looks very nice on the inside and the hotubs are sweet the way they have them setup to look like your in the mountains.

Oasis is ok we had a bad meal the other night there must have been a off night. Land O magic has always been good in Logan. Gourmet Gas station is good as well.

Bar 3 in Belgrade shut down that was a great place as well.

Another place that is little further out but has insane meals is the sales ring in three forks that place rocks. Not sure the name of the place but realy clean new place and very nice.

Thanks for all the reply's guys. I was actually surprised not to hear a mention of Montana Ale Works. I was reading a couple other reviews and it sounded like that was the place to eat. Maybe not?

My brother is always trying to eat at the Rib and Chop place in Livingston, supposed to be amazing. Get a reservation, that is why I have never ate there.:(
