Best Boots?

I like my HMK highmark 3 or 4's can't remember which one my feet stay dry and they breathe pretty well I havn't had my feet sweat inside them either they just stay dry and warm

OK, I checked out Cabelas and these were rated at -100. Decent price too. Are these the ones (Glacier Point)? How are they for ankle stability with moderately aggressive riding? My feet are cold by the time I've suited up, unloaded my sled and warmed 'er up! This Cabelas boot sounds like a good 'un if it has the ankle support. I've also been leaning toward the Klim. Sounds like it might be worth the $.

Yes these are the ones. They may not have quite enough ankle support for an aggressive rider but they keep you dry and warm. I spent all day today in them and my socks aren't even damp. It was -10 when we unloaded.

Klims do seem to run small. I normally wear 10.5 - 11. I tried an 11 Klim Adrenaline GTX and it was REALLY snug. I ended up with a 12 and that seems like a good fit.

Burton snowboard boot....I think my model is the "rulers"

Warm and dry all day. Have a little flex front to back at the ankle, but none side-to-side...which is perfect. Also they have quick strap laces....pull 2 little handles and you're done. Also, you can get them tight as all hell if you wish and, hey, I can use them in my snowboard LOL

There's probably other good boots out there, but I wouldn't change 1 thing on these, they work awesome.

You guys using those Sorel type boots with the soft top are really looking to roll some ankles and have some unnessary "offs." I rode a month with some and NEVER again....

Edit: If you ride mountains and stand up a lot

Yes these are the ones. They may not have enough support for an aggressive rider. I ride, then stand on the ice and fish all day. My feet are not cold and my socks don't get damp. It was -10 when we unloaded this morning.

I've had Sorels, HMK's, RU Outside and now Klim GTX. Each kept my feet warm but the Klim were by far better at keeping my feet dryer at the end of the day. That alone is so important if you have an unplanned campout. Wet feet equals lost toes.

Another trick, which may sound weird, is to apply your underarm antiperspirant to your feet prior to riding. You will be amazed how much it helps.

I've tried many boots and my feet alway have gotten cold... it's a girl thing we are always cold! Right now I am wearing a $80 pair of snowboarding boots and I will never go back to the traditional style boots. They are very very warm and offer really good support. The only thing i have found is if you are having to monkey around in the snow they don't have that great of grip but it's not that big of a deal

Klim Adrenaline Question!

Thanks to everyone for all the great advice. I sucked it up and got a pair of Adrenalines today (four day's wages!). One pair left in my size in the back room on hold for a dude who never showed up for two weeks, so I scalped 'em. I got two sizes bigger and they are a tad tight in the ball of my foot, so maybe not enough air space with mid weight wool socks. Those who own Adrenalines, do they loosen up a bit when they are broken in?

Yikes, got this post after returning from buying Klim. Yours are half the price. Are snowboarding boots stiff like ski boots?

snowboarding boots usually get good responses, but for me they didnt work too well, I was warm, and usually dry unless my feet were sweating but I don't know if it was my specific ones, or in general, but I found that they were a little too wide for agressive sidehilling, I always felt as I was gonna slip off when your standing near the back, hanging off, there is not much running board back there. Its also kind of a pita getting the snow off my running boards, especially near the back again since its a very wide boot, the traction is also not what I was after, and they were also heavy, now again, as I said it may have been the particular snowboard boot I had so don't take what I am saying as 100%, but this year I bought myself a pair of the Klim adrenalines like yourself, but they have not arrived yet! but have heard nothing but good things from alot of the riders here in BC, waterproof, warm, lightweight, manuverable yet supportive so I guess we will see, but I don't think you made the wrong choice.

PS and yes my boots were very stiff, only thing I might miss, but apparently the klim adrenaline boots have some support to them as well, how do you like them?

I haven't been out in the snow with them yet cuz I just bought them yesterday, but walking around inside with them they feel great, lots of support, yet flexible, aggressive tread, not real heavy. Cushion-ey feel on sole of foot. Can't wait to try them out this weekend.

They sound exactly what I bought them for then, Still gotta wait another week or 2 for mine, gonna be hard to put on the 10 year old sorels again this weekend.

first thing im gonna do when I buy mine is stand in my bathtub with a few inches of water and see if they really do live up to the hype! :D haha, but I will have to dress in full gear, standing in the bathtub with just boots would be strange  haha

I've ridden in every Klim boot produced since 2000. The last model hiking boot like GT's were my favorites. The only disadvantage I noticed was the mesh material instantly showed wear and tear after the first ride. They also hurt my outer angle on race days that required alot of standing around or walking. For dryness and aggressive riding they worked great.

This season I am trying out the new HMK Pro Boa Focus II. So far I am really really liking them (more so each ride as they break in). They are not even close to sealed for waterproofness by design but so far I haven't had to ford any 6" deep creeks (like the snowest moisture test) and in daily winter deep powder riding I've stayed warm and dry. Most moisture issues associated with boots are either wet snow getting into the lining and then melting from your body heat or just simply having sweaty feet. These when warn correctly haven't had any snow in them and I wear performance wicking socks so I've had great luck with them. They are much stiffer then the Klim boots and I feel offer me much better aggressive riding support. The boa system lacing is AWESOME! Not only is it easy but you can so simply adjust the entire lace pressure that you can custom fit them. I'm not sorry one bit about making this switch to HMK. My only regret is spilling a chili bomb on them and staining my "white winter rapper sneaks". Cool boots and I have no problem advocating them.
