BEST ALL- SEASON TIRE FOR MID SIZE TRUCKS

Michelin LTX a/t2's. 65000 miles on my 2500 diesel. Great snow and ice traction. Couldn't get half that many miles on any Good for a Year tires I tried.

Another vote for Coopers AT3's. 15k miles on them and while they do throw rocks a little bit I do enjoy them. Just make sure you have flaps and/or wheel wells protected if you're concerned with the paint in there. I have buddies that have 60k on the old ATR's and they plows are getting hooked up to the trucks with those tires on -- the jury is still out on if those tires will make it past Christmas, but we'll see.

I did run a set of Firestone Destination A/T's and they did the job well.

My vote goes for the duratrac. Best tire I've ran in a long time. I put the miles on as well, 50k a year between a couple trucks. They are a bit soft so when it warms up they will wear. Winter traction in ALL types of snow has been excellent for me. I had poor snow traction with the previous Toyo At.

I've got 37" Cooper STT on my dodge 3500 diesel. Most I've towed is 13k pounds, and didn't feel any uneasy feelings about being squishy or whichever. Unloaded I run them at about 37psi, tread wears dead flat, only been 8k kms, so far so good!

Best all season / All terrain tires I've ever used are the Michelin LTX AT2's and the brand new Goodyear Wrangler All terrain adventures w/ Kevlar (way better than the previous gen silent armors).

Love my BFG A/T's.....probably had 4 different sets on 4 different trucks personally, and have 3 close friends that have also been using them for years all with good experiences. I use them year-round, and they are legally winter rated which is becoming more of a big deal (with the law) in BC.

Look cool, winter rated, available in 6 or 10 ply's, good grip in nearly all conditions, quiet on the highway....what's not too like? I don't know or really care how long they last....as I don't put on a ton of miles, and have never owned a truck long enough to wear out a set of tires from new. So they last...long enough I guess lol

I am looking for tires also. I do most of my driving in the winter i ride my 4 wheeler all the time in the spring fall summer unless i go out of town.

I have it down to these in order.

Goodyear Duratracs-I haven't really heard much bad about these the guys around here loving the traction in the snow and the ice and guys getting 50k+ on diesels.

Hankook ATM-getting about the same reviews from the duratracs and about the same 50k+

Cooper At3s- I read alot of good stuff about this also sounds like it does not do as good on ice as the other two and about the same mileage also. But there is also alot of people having problems with these tires not wanting to stay balanced and read a couple reviews of guys getting there money back after going 5 times to get them rebalanced.

Sounds like Duratracs are hard to get a hold of right now also. need more input!

I don't want to offend anyone but the goodyear duratrack is the fastest wearing tire I have ever had on any vehicle I have ever owned!
I have ran dozens of tires! Including Several TSL's, Boggers, TSL bias, TSL radials, TSL sx, SSR, Truxus m/t, IROK Radials. And non of them wore as fast as the goodyear duratrack I had.
I really cannot believe that any diesel truck can get 40,000 miles on a set. 14,000 mi and I was below 50%

I drive with people who have duratracks on their trucks. Hell I talked a few of them in to getting them. I feel bad now. They are happy with them But I can tell u side by side comparison I am not impressed.

I have heard the Goodyear are seriously squishy with trailers and heavy loads.....and diesels. So since i own a diesel and run a sled deck, 3 place trailer, and a toy hauler on occasion i didn't consider these at all.

I loved my 1st 2 sets of BFG's but this last set was horrible. Heard rumors the compound had been changed??????? I guess it's a fricken crap shoot now......

Hankook ATM. I have had them on two different crew cab diesels and I tow 12,000 lbs about 60% of my driving. I currently have just over 50k on this set.

Just put on my 2nd second of Duratracs, I am really surprised at the mileage I got with them and when I find my paperwork I'll post the actual figures but I put the first set on in the fall of '11 and I had to have around 20k on it, when we put these on Friday I had just turned 90k. Most of my driving is highway empty or pulling either a 4,000lb open utility trailer or a 36' enclosed with 6 sleds and the "squishy" feeling complained about was a non-issue for me. I went with the 285/70-17 and run 55lbs in them, rotate every 5k miles.

Prior to these tires I had the Dynapro ATM's, good tire also but not the traction of the Duratracs, I might not need traction ALL the time, but when I do it's nice to have.

And the vehicle of choice is a 2011 Ram 2500 Megacab, 6.7 Cummins.

am down to the duratracs and the dynapro atm....how do the atms doing on snow ice? are you guys happy with the way they preform in winter, in reality i never have had to drive in more than 6 inches of snow and if i do its not for long so i dont know if the extra traction from the duratracs are needed imo thats what chains are for. But if the atms do good on ice and snow pack i think that is the way to good overall i think people are getting more milage out of them. sounds like the duratracs are hit or miss with milage but am sure thats driving style also.

I think the DynaPros do great traction wise. The tread is siped and that helps on the ice. I have BFG All Terrains on my other truck and the traction is comparable. The BFG's cost almost twice as much in a load range E 285/55R20 and the tread lasts half as long.

Hankook has great ice and compact snow traction.
I don't make any money when someone buys them so I'm not trying to sell them.
I just want to help people save money from making the mistakes I have already made.
BFG a/t used to be my go to winter all terrain. But then they changed the tread compound on some sizes and u don't know if the size ur getting has the mountain snowflake symbol or not.
Maybe the goodyear duratrack has the same issue with tread compound? My 16" wheels vs 20" wheels?
I personaly know of 5 people that have or had 16" duratracks. 4 of the 5 are dispointed with the traction on ice and compact snow and very disapointed with tread wear.

For comparison. Identical trucks living next door to each other(1mile dirt road so snow lasts all season long). One had 2 yr old hercules mud terrain(siped) one had goodyear duratrack(brand new). during winter The truck with duratrack had to use 4wd all winter to get home the truck with hercules only sometimes. It was a daily comparison. Then the truck with duratrack got brand new Hankook atm then nolonger needed 4wd to get home when the truck with the hercules had to! Complete reversal in king of the hill! But That is the 285/75 16. I don't know how other sizes fair but I imagine it will be similar.
