Best 860 in W. Canada

Sound off if you have run one. Would like to hear from anyone who is running an 860 that is built in BC or Alberta. Tuning, does it run on pump gas, cost, would you do it again?

Curious how they compare Turbo Al's Ted's at Terra Alps, Raply etc.\
Thanks

I run Turbo Als 860. Have for the last 3 yrs. Tuning the motor is pretty standard. I don't run dpm. I do run powerjets and pods. i ve found that harnessing the power through the clutches to be a bit of a challenge.

I do run 3-4 gallons of race fuel because I run nitrous and for the ride up the trail.

I paid over 2k for it. Not sure what they are now.

Love the power and wouldn't go back to a 800.

tera

just got off the phone with ted, i was looking for info on the bigbore, He was nothing but help full. all i can say is i have heard nothing but good things about him and just talking to him, he will get my business. everyone i talked to said he stands behind his stuff, and no bull ****.
just wish i was closer
good luck

Thanks Guys,

Twin pipes! thats right, been testing twin pipes with our 860r big bore kit for the 2007-2008 skidoo 800r motor exceeding our expectations with more power all the way thru the power curve. pretty much have a set of pipes finallized.

Our 860r big bore with cast pistons(reliable), mtn. ported(same as last season), billit head(12.5-1 comp. ratio), exhaust valve modification, with stock pipe, y pipe, can and stock airbox made 11% more hp then stock. we expected 6% gain but achieved 11%.

Twin pipes on our 860r big bore made 21% more hp over stock.

These were 45-60 sec pulls, with stock timing, staying under the det sensor.
Remeber the det sensor is your friend and keeps your motor from harmful damage. If the det sensor is triggered and drops 5 hp, thats better then detonation and damaging a piston or dome or cyl.
a little more testing to be done until the twin pipe package is finallized

860r big bore kit $2300.00 (availible)
Twin pipes $899.00 (not availible until final testing completed)

Thanks Ted,

I wouldn't hesitate to run Al's or John's 860. Both guys have got me out of a jam or two.

Tom at Mot's machine in St. Albert has a good reputation as well. I havent dealt with him much but he seems like a good guy.

Mine, built by Split Second is none too shabby. I think he is done his run for the year though, he only does a few. He might have some "R" stuff ready though. I've got one over at Neils that he is going to play around with and see if twins will work.

Never seen one of Ted's go or dealt with the guy.

As for the rest of them.....you all know my opinions.

didn't mean to hijack. i just happen to have a pair of al's 860 cylinders in the shop, were based on a zx motor. 403-938-0930. oops, found out there are a al's 880 cylinders
