Best 08+ Running Board Inserts? Fastlane?

For a ground hater like me, I've got to agree, I want some nice thick material going up the tunnel.

The cutler boards I had on an 07 with 08 edges sandwiched over them & riveted together were the strongest setup I've seen & the most life I've gotten out of the useless crap rivets cat puts at the front of the running board edges. They don't really fit the 08+ (I don't think?) so I've been waiting for a set that will do what I want, destroying the front of the edges in the mean time!

i have run snow eliminators and cutlers, then tried no sno's.
the no sno's work the best overall because the snow just doesn't stick.
here is a shot of mine w/ powder coated rails and custom made board
extentions

I really like these

You need more pics showing them completely installed. What the front part looks likes and how far back they come. Thanks.

i think some aftermarket boards are far more weak then stock....regardless, install/fit/finish is far more improtant

LEAVE SOME MEAT!!!....:face-icon-small-win:light:

Traction pins on the fastlanes?

What are the traction pins on the no-snows? And where can I buy them?

I would stay away from any running boards that are made of HDPE plastic. UHMW plastic is much stronger and resistant to abrasion (for kicking and standing on) than HDPE. It also does way better at staying pliable in cold weather. I'm telling you, if you are looking for a great running board that gives you the aluminum structural strength below and the snow-shedding plastic on top, take a look at the Throttle-Up boards. They are the best of both worlds, cheaper and are UHMW, which is higher cost than the HDPE material. I have had them on for over a year now (I was one of the lucky testers) and they are awesome! Very affordable to...........

????

Not sure where you are getting your info but not all hdpe is the same. we use a uv stable hdpe material made for marine applications, it was chosen over uhmw because it outperforms uhmw for this app. It also cost 30% more than a comparable uhmw material. By the way on your sled the belly pan, gas tank, air box and most other plastic found on your sled is made of different hpde compounds.

Not to start an argument here, but you also don't stand on your belly pan, gas tank and airbox when riding. You should advertise it on your website as a "Seaboard" HDPE not just regular HDPE. As far as outperforming UHMW, if you look at the specs, their are give and takes to both. I'm sure they both probably would both perform just as well in this application.

Would you mine elaborating on why HDPE outperforms UHMW? I don't know much about different kinds of plastic and would like to learn.

I am going to give the Throttle Up boards a try. I like the thickness, and the mix of aluminum and plastic for the qualities of both. I will post a review soon. Pray for snow!

The fit and finish on the throttle up boards looks top notch, I really like the tread design of the WRP boards and the way they go up the tunnel but the Throttle up boards look like they really thought out how to save the factory webbing while getting snow through it. The crossed creases cat puts in the tunnel really gets in the way of aftermarket boards doing the reinforcing up the side, I think the throttle up boards look like they do the best job of keeping the factory support while complimenting it with added clean-out holes and grip.

I think the 12 point screws they use would give just slightly more grip than the factory boards all iced up as they get without resorting to the boot chewing gold screws. If I add a set I think these would be the ones I go with. Someone please tell me or show install photos of how much of a pain it is or isn't to flatten all those ribbed treads to install them as clean as the photos they have on their website. Looks fake how clean their install is!

Screw it, I just bought a set anyway. They look too nice. If I don't use them someone will. A good "drunk buy" at worst!

When you get all the openings cut open, just take a grinder to it and smooth it out good. Takes about 3-4 minutes with a 4" angle grinder. You know how it is with anything. The install is only as good as the time you take to do it right.
