Ok, anyways a few weeks ago I had a blowout on my Mirage trailer.
I go to change the tire, and essentially can't get it off because the frame is tweaked.
Anyways, the spacer that the torsion axles are welded to on the driver's side is bent, causing there to not be enough clearance to get the tire off ...
I took the trailer to a place that initially told me they were going to cut the spacers and axles out, weld in new spacers then brace the frame ...
Come to find out, they didn't do this, all they did was "turn the axles down", effectivley raising the height of my trailer by 1" .... which I'm really not that hot to trot about because all that's going to do is put more leverage on an already weak spacer and bend it even worse.
What are your opinions on that? I really don't wanna screw the trailer up even worse plus the trailer is already high enough off the ground as it is....
The other thing is, is "turning the axle down" the same thing as cranking the torsion bars on a pickup? So in other words, alll it did was remove suspesion travel on the top end and now my trailer is gonna bounce around like crazy?
This kinda makes me mad, I don't know if they got to looking at it and then found out they just weren't equipped to fix it, or what, but what do you all think I should do other than dump it off a cliff and be done with it because Mirage is crap?
