Bent Timbersled Rear Suspension?

I've got the Timbersled setup on the rear of my 08 Apex. The rear H-arm and shaft have bent on the upper shaft of the rear shock mount, not good cause its pulling in the drop brackets as well! Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem and has a solution, already straightened it twice and am thinking of replacing the shaft with a steel one instead of aluminum. Thanks

Call Allen at Timbersled and he will make it right 1-208-691-5454. You should always call the company that makes the part first. Timbersled stands behind there parts 100%. I would bet they send you a new rear arm.

I know I need to call Timbersled. My daler has been trying for about a week now. Only problem is I need it fixed asap as I am going riding this weekend and next weekend and if I dont do something the shock will probably wear through the track. Being from Canada means I will definately be waiting for shipment of the parts and I probably wont have them in time. I was just thinking somebody would have some suggestions. (better to fix a relativley small problem now before there is major damage in my opinion!) Definately not going to miss Yamafest, its gona be a blast!

Ditto the contact Allen, he is a VERY good guy, and has been at the Yamaha Dealer show in West this week...So cannot speak for why your dealer did not take care of it or not, but know Allen will help assuming it is an issue with his stuff and not abuse...

but really should in fuiture contact vendor prior to posting...tends to be seen as slamming them rather than giving them a chance to make something right...

sounds like you are bottoming the shock out thats what usually causes the shaft to bend on any skid.

I didn't see any slamming, he was just asking if anyone else had seen a problem. I've had a couple of probs myself and I'm sure they will be taken care of.

dont get me wrong, I'm not "slamming" timbersled stuff. I'm really happy with it and it works fantastic on helping keep the front end down while climbing. It also works great on the really rough trails up the mountain. I would never go back to stock after riding it! But sh*@ happens, I just thought why not beef it up if its an issue. Maybe if I am the only one with a problem I got a defective shaft / arm or something. Never felt it bottom out in the back. Have felt the front bottom out a few times in rough trails, but no worse than stock.

You should call Allen yourself forget the your dealer leave a message if you have too he will call you back. they might be doing something to beef that up. A steel cross shaft would help if you can get one.

Have you run the skid thru its travel with no air in the shocks?? make sure the rear shock can go thru its travel fully?? Also call at 7 or 8 at night....I have had the best luck getting ahold of him then...also he has returned every message I have left....at least he may have some ideas for you to look at.

Sorry read it differently...My apologies...

Agree with others, Call Allen directly, he will step in!!

Check with some dealers for one in the mean time Not sure but I think Vernon has one :beer;

I went to the machine shop in town, they have made me a steel shaft for a temporary fix. Hopefully it will work for now. I am 165lbs running one shim on top and was running 1 below before the first bend. now running 1 shim above and two below, works way better climbing, way less wheelie action! I am running 90psi in the front shock and 135 in the rear shock. My dealer got ahold of Allan, sounds like it will be taken care of, so pretty happy about that. :) (dont really want to run more pressure in the front shock as I can feel the rail tips rubbing on track clips going slow down really rough trails, should probably tighten limiter straps a bit but found the front end feels too heavy).
