Bent swignarms, am I the only one ?

Let me tell you guys, I'll probably go through 80% of the parts on my hawks... and I'll have to re-ingeneer it myself...

During lunch time today, as I was staring at my Hawk (and saying to myself how nice she really is in the snow, not in the trailer), I realized her swignarms were bent !!!

It probably happened when I tried that 180 air off a wind lip and I ended up rotating 90 degrees, landed sideways, back of track first, I landed right on the seat/ footpegs, didn't even fall... I suppose that huge side torque bent them... We need an X in there so it stiffens it up laterally so I still can try it out next year and don't bend anything !

Well, that'll be a good reason to go with Sledr2's swignarm relocation retrofit... !

Just wondering if any of you guys bent yours as well ? Cailen ?

Mine too

Sledr2 was surprised my hawk even ran. Me too after realizing how bent they really are. I don't even know when or how it happened. If you look at it from the back it sits all funny. Time for an upgraded suspension.

Bro and Joel Both 3/8 difference

In the last tow weeks we have been beating on two suspensions with sledge hammers trying to straighten them out the plastic rail protectors up front are digging into the track nubs on one side real bad , both machines are about 3/8 bent , must be from hitting stuff or landing crossed up.

Good to know i'm not the only one...

It's probably worst with longer tracked machines. Long & stiff rails means more leverage to bend the swigarms if you hit something sideways. Stock swignarms would have to be cross braced in the middle probably but by the design of them (twin shocks in the middle) it's impossible to do.

Going thicker or going with Sledr2's swignarm retrofit will be the solution here.

Hammering or pressing them back will only last so long again. If it gets you going for another weekend, it's the way to go though !

ZX2 not bending

I think the zx2 works pretty well. Not that I ever hit stuff like you guys but it has flex built into the plastic and seems to hold up very well. sldr2 how is yours zx2 holding up?

It's holding up really well.

My springs are too stiff tho.... After spending half a day riding double(Harley broke his spider, had to leave it up there, rescue mission comming) Iwe found the suspension feels really good, can actaully feel alot of travel. Just need more weight, would work really good for Tony!! LOL ROFL.

Holy smokes, it wasn't just his swingarms, EVERY piece on his suspension was bent, I couldn't believe it even worked.

Drills says"Yeah, I noticed it sat kinda crooked"

Gonna fix him up with "The goods"

Same thing with me. Just pulled the skid out to take track out and front of rails are bent, black steel pivot where shocks bolts on is bent, both swignarms are bent. The whole thing looks reetard from top view.

Now I remember when that happened; last ride, hit a land mine (a big solid rock) & got ejected off the seat pretty good. Looked at it and I was surprised it was still rinning.

Rail extensions are fine though !
