bent right upper a-arm, replacement options?

so this past week I hit a medium size log and broke it in two with my a-arm. I bent the upper arm slightly and notice the paint cracked around the welded areas. To me this means the arms were put under stress and deflected.

I was wondering what options I have to replace the stockers. Where is the cheapest place to get stockers? and what about aftermarket?

well, did a little searching and found that most kits are well over the $400 mark.

therefore, I will be rocking the stock bent until I blast them apart. Then I will look into it more.

thanks

ars fx vs. stock a-arms

zbros ars fx complete a-arm kit is 450.00 from ice age. quite a deal considering polaris bumped there prices up this year. (two stock lowers cost 500.00). are fx are 160.00 per lower and 112.00 per upper. they make your bulkhead sit about an inch higher and complete in wider and narrower than stock ski stance and they are stronger than stock. you will need your stock ball joints and mounting hardware.

Paid $170 for a single lower kit on an 11 last year, just to complete the pic. I think that was 15% off list.

WTH? $200+ for a lower A arm? Poo gotta make some money to cover those engine warranties somehow, huh?
FWIW, every A arm on every sled I've had has cracked paint on the welds. Even tweaked a little, they still hold together. Don't sweat it unless you see a cracked weld, tube or significant deformation of one of the tubes.
My M1000 had 1 ski about 1/2" rear ward of the other due to smacking something, for a couple years. Finally hit something hard enough with teh other side that they are now perfectly aligned again!

thanks for all the options. gonna rock the slight bent for a while. i would probably buy the zbroz and get their spring update at the same time too

thanks for all the help!

well, after I got home I took a look at this a little closer.

Alignment was whacked, fixed that quickly.

Then I thought I would double check to make sure the shock was ok. NOPE shock shaft was slightly bent causing binding thru mid stroke

Called up Deycore and installed a new shock shaft. 69.99 and it was all good to go.

FYI for anyone rebuilding the stock pro front shocks, specs are:

Walker Evans monotube:
IFP = 6.875"
200psi for nitrogen charge

Zbroz kit is top notch. And well worth the coin ImageUploadedByTapatalk1361317047.201901.jpg

I have seen Alternative Impact and Timbersled A-Arm kits on my buddies 13 Pros this year and they both seem to be happy with them. Me on the other hand have spent about $800 dollars on Polaris A-Arms this year for my 13 Pro but now I have a complete backup set for when they break next time. Make sure you check the lower arms glue to see if it has come apart. If you don't see the ring of glue outside the connection from the tube to the y joint then the glue has failed and there is a chance the tube will pull out and collapse the whole suspension assembly.

Might just be me, but has zbros and got tired of several things that have allready been talked about. Bought a set of alternative impact arms and have been real happy with them. They have a heim on the lower that can sometimes save the arm if you wack something, you can by them one at a time and actually lose weight with them instead of gaining. Not 100% sure but im pretty sure you can mix and match them with the stock arms too.
