Bent Nytro subframe, CALL YAMAHA!!!!!

I called yamaha on 1-16 to inform them about my subframe being bent and the rep told me that he had not heard of that problem but he was going to try to get my backordered frame to me quicker and said he would call me back. Well, I didnt get a call back so today 1-18 I called him back and he apologized for not getting back to me and told me that now other cases of bent frames are turning up and Yamaha is possibly looking into doing something about it. What I am getting at is that everyone with a subframe problem should be calling and letting them know because the more complaints that they get, the more likely that they will come up with a recall or something. Yamahas # is (800)962-7926.

you should have asked for a track while you were at it ! there looking at my mav and possibly replacing it for free :D lemonf7 is right if somethings wrong give yamaha a call there pretty good to deal with , even if they do take a day to get back to you

Why are they replacing it for free? Is something wrong with it or just because you don't like it??? I would like a camo extreme if yami is paying, these mavs are no good! IMO

I called this morning prior to your post. The part has been on back order for a month. It is unreasonable in the day of global overnight shipping to have a part that is back ordered for a month. The response was that the part should be available by the middle of next month. This was a frustrating answer at best. I think that I will just continue to call and hopefully my dissatisfaction will be properly communicated.

This morning yamaha told me that the official date is feb 19 but it sounded like he was going to do all that he could to get me one sooner since I have a trip scheduled for the beginning of February. I dont know if the rep has any control over a backordered part coming from Japan that probably hasnt been made yet, but anything that he can do for me is better than a big FU. He also asked me how long my warranty was so maybe he was thinking about getting my warranty extended to keep me happy. That would be cool.

I'm number 11 on that list. I heard they are trying really hard and are pushing the oversea folks to hurry up and they might have some by the end of Janurary, I hope. The more calls Yamaha gets the more they will push, so call!

there is another post about this on here "overly strong a arms" there is about half a dozen or so people my self included with this problem. I tweaked mine the first ride out with a very minimal impact. I had to use a three foot pry bar to fix mine. I posted the same advise everyone that has a problem needs to call yamaha instead of fixing it themselves. the rep I talked to said they did not know of any cases yet or a large number of problems so the more people that complain the better for everyone if you have a problem the first sighn is your spindles will sit at differant angles from one another or one ski will be further back from the other this happens because the whole susspension gets racked nothing gives before the sub frame, sound like an engineer had his head you know where.

Sucks

I wonder if the timbersled a arms would provide any protection to the sub frame in this kind of case?

I didn't think I'd replace them before, but they do come in blue...

:D

I also called yamaha today and asked if anyone else has had this issue but the guy said i was the first one that he had heard of. he wasnt able to give me a date on the new frame, so it kind of puts my trip to cooke the middle of feb in jeopordy.

yes i think the timbersled a arms, being as light duty as they are, would prolly tear right off before any subframe damage happened...not knocking them at all but might be an alternative to serious damage...stockers are pretty damn strong :beer;

If some one has a half tweaked old one laying around send it my way and ill see if my fabricator buddy will be able to make a light weight stronger copy

I'm sure they will, they seemed pretty good with the issues that came up with the phazers last year. Not like another manufacturer that we all know of............

Bent mine on my last trip to west, i think my dealer is going to stand behind it, hopefully yamaha will come out with a recall for it, it bent way to easy, my friend was riding the sled when it happened and he hit a rock on the trail going like 10 mph
