have a 09 HCR and looking at straying from the AC belt. what are you guys running? cheaper? tougher?

046 belt. If you are going through them and that is why you are thinking about changing. You have a problem. Scratched clutches proper alignment....??
you sir are bang on! i am getting new clutches on warranty as we speak. one of the hoodscreen clip got sucked into clutches and embeded itself into the belt....messin up the clutches real bad. deep gauges. i went through 9 belts in 1000miles. they tried to polish the surfaces and it helped but i was still eating belts. i told em to change em out on warranty if they could. i checked alignment...A ok. should have it back together next week. just wanted to know what other guys were running for aftermarket belts....the cat belts are $$$$$
I gotta ask sandman, what about pulling cords on the belt? I have never had one actually grenade on my m8, but can pull cord out trying to be nice to it from the truck to the deep stuff. I hear about the odd person with million mile belts, but with a handfull of guys locally with the same problems i have, makes me curious.
I run the 046 in the mountains and the 060 ultimax xs at lower elevations (drops my rpms by about 300). The 060 is softer so it grabs better but is less durable. So it depends what you are looking for. I like the 046 in the mountains because I would rather have the durability with the higher temperatures. Also its much easier to change weights rather than change a belt.
