Belt Width

Polaris service manual says new belt width should be 1.46". It then says that it should be replaced when you can no longer get the correct deflection adjustment. Does anybody have a rough idea of an actual belt width when the belt should be replaced?

That service manual comment is correct. Replace it when you can't get the correct deflection adjustment. In other words, replace it when it slips or falls apart or explodes. There is no actual measurement, since all clutches vary slightly.
