Belt Removal...Pita?

Just pulled a belt to look it over...
What a pita.
Am I missing something?

Could they not have added an inch around the primary to get the gd belt out?

Whats the trick?

Had to change a belt on a 2011 800 pro rental sled in Wyoming, it actually came off fairly easy but you do have to roll the belt out with the primary. I do agree though that there isn't much room to work!

i have changed my belt maybe 5-6 times and never had any issues. thought it was preety simply and easy.

Guess I'm spoiled with sleds that have accessible clutches/belts then. ><

I did end up removing it by "rolling the clutch".

But its still a pita, and doesn't slide right off like the other brands I've owned...

Ya it sucks, takes about 30 seconds. Catch a cog on the drive clutch and spin it off...

Thanks. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's easy.

Not to be an @ss, but you did loosen the secondary with the tool that comes with the sled right? Just pop the belt over the secondary and then wedge it between the primary and the plastic. Turn the primary over and it pops right out. If you don't know how to do it, that doesn't make it a pita. It just makes you uninformed.

After removing the belt from the secondary, lay a part of it between two towers on your Primary and then roll the primary around to pull the belt out.....

You guys are using the little 90* screw in tool to open the secondary? Aren't You?
It takes me longer to put the side panel back on than it does to take the belt off.

You can also remove some of the extra plastic by the primary to aid in belt and clutch removal. The serrated blade on a Leatherman does a good job.

To remove it do it the easy way like me, ride it like a raped ape till the belt blows. Kaboom bits and pieces, just pick up the pieces and roll on a new belt over primary and voila your done. Ride again.
