Belt Drive belt rubbing on plastic with dolly!!!

I haven't held up the skid plate yet to the bottom of my sled yet. I wonder if it covers this area? Anyone mounted a skid plate yet? I noticed some small plastic flakes around the belt drive. Not much of a mark in the plastic though.

Those dollies do damage to any newer (a-arm) sled, period. I use one, I know where to put the pads, but they were designed for trailing arms sleds.
Shoot, too many beers, but 10+ years ago, when I worked for a Doolership, we had the aftermarket sleds, cannot remember the name, used Poo engines. I ran one on a dolly and did a CRAPLOAD of damage to the bellypan/bodywork.

CMX ? .......... sounds like they need a skid plate made out of plastic so when you chew threw the belly pan you'll still be protected from the elements .

I will be making some of these up in the next couple of weeks. They will be stronger (ie better designed) and cheaper than the ones from the other guys.

I am close to where you live, interested in seeing what you come up with.

Very interested in a guard. Picture of the Quick Drive & plastic damage on my new sled :face-icon-small-dis

Thanks for all the interest in the gaurd. I will try to get something together by the beginning of next week. Please be patient. Thanks again.

Working OT at work, hunting season, WSSA snowshow, firewood and getting my sled back together have all got in the way, but I have some prototypes made up that I'm not quite happy with. So I am stil working on it making changes, Please be patient and I will deliver. 'Dawg

Installed my TCP shield last night. Yes, it was almost $60.00 but it fits nice!!! Easy to install and will definitely protect that area. Two thumbs up to Tri-City Polaris.....now I am just waiting on the clutch kit.

People! We need snow!!! Toooooo much time to sit around and mod sleds.

picked my sled up yesterday, and there really is no room between that belt and belly pan. Couldn't even fit my pinky finger.

Have you had time to finish anything, interested seeing what you come with for a guard.

Thanks

Ya I see this being a big issue this year. Bang! crush a stump or something pushes that plastic pan up into the belt and boom! I think a really good aluminum guard i going to sell really well to belt drive owners.

Due to my terrible schedule and trying to get my sled put back together before the snow flies, I have been talking to Mike at Vanamburg for the past several weeks. I touched bases with him yesterday and we have been discussing the best way to go about it. Should have something next week. We are talking bout making it fit above the plastic so that snow, rocks, sticks etc won't catch on it. This means you will have to cut out part of the existing plastic. This will be a nice strong piece very similar to most other VEI chaincase gaurds. Not sure what he has in mind for a price, but like all VEI products you can rest assured of the quality. Mike is currently working on some new rear bumper pieces that will cure some of the tunnel buckling problems inherent of the Pro especially when putting low transfer style suspensions with high HP motors. Stay tuned for some great VEI products for the Pro.

Here are some different types of chaincase gaurds for other sleds
