belt drive alternate part #

I was just curious if Gates had a belt that would swap out for OEM belt on belt drive system? Was hoping to find cheaper alternative!

Owners manual recomends replacing after 2000 miles.

i tried a gates belt on mine and it did not last. put OEM one on and its been great

my understanding of now is polaris's belt drive belt is proprietary..meaning its a dealer item only(tooth design and pitch is solely polaris's..)maybe the only place to get one for now...

OP is talking about the belt drive that replaces the chaincase on 2013's . Just to clarify

Latest SnowWest magazine has an article about GOODYEAR belts and says they cost about $75 street price.

Goodyear has a specific website and phone number for snowmobile belts.

You guys are talking about the wrong belt, I think... I believe the original post is asking about the NEW belt drive system, not the CVT belt(the belt on the clutches).

The info I got last spring was that Polaris decided NOT to use a standard belt on the system but came up with their own spec. I won't speculate why that is. For now, only available from the dealer... well will be available, not available yet.
