Belt Deflection Adjusters?

Can someone give me a good explanation as to how these work. Pictures along with the explanation would be even better. Not sure which one to go for, but I hate the shims and such involved in the stock setup, along with Cat's directions on how to measure the play in the belt? The way I always learned is that the top of the secondary should align with the "valley" between belt cogs.

Amp has i nice one all you need for tools to adjust it are allrerady in your AC tool kit.

AMP x2 here. They replace your secondary bolt and the stock adjuster and washers. Works by loosening the new secondary bolt they give you then screwing the new adjuster farther in or out and retightening the secondary bolt. Easy as pie.

The AMP is good, I use the one from Cutlers. Deflection is set by how far you thread in the adjuster. Once you tighten the set bolt, that sets the distance between the sheeves. Much better than shims, and infitine adjustment
