Bearpaw riding- adjacent wilderness area

just a smelly thought...

You cannot ride in the wilderness but you can take a sh*t in the wilderness:face-icon-small-con makes you wonder???

Interesting read over there.
I gotta say, I was completely shocked.... they really think that if they waved one of us down to talk that we would actually physically assault them? WOW:eek:

I was also surprised at those pictures. Granted I do not know the area in question, but to an outsider, those pics really don't show any wide angle 'descriptive' shots of exactly where they are, no valley to reference to, just a small peak from close up.....

Whether or not any of the sleds were in the wilderness, I cannot say (as I don't know the area in question) but I do not support riding in the wilderness at all. We have a very very tempting spot of wilderness close to where I ride, but I will not go out there, we would only be giving ourselves a bad name by doing it.

It is funny though as was also mentioned, sleds traveling over the snow will never 'damage' the area like a hiking trail, horse, or bicycle will..... yet we are the bad guys destroying the wilderness.... The only thing we are guilty of leaving behind is a little noise... I can live with that. But I will be operating my noise maker on public land.

If the greenies really want to 'preserve' the land, then they should ban themselves from their hiking trails.... funny how a hiking trail can be a foot deep 'rut' that will be there for years, but a sled trench that will melt away in the spring is 'damage':face-icon-small-fro

I downloaded the KMZ file, but the boundries are not included, just the descriptions and a pop up when you click on the descriptions. I emailed the web site and got this response from Lisa Edison @ University of Montanna.

We are working to get the boundaries into a downloadable format for GPS units on PublicEarth, but haven't gotten there yet. Sorry!

Bearpaw Riding

Hello,
Ive got a thought. the thought is what physical reason does this guy have to be posting pics other than it makes him feel special. He gets to post a pic, be a bigshot with his buddies, and here is the point, this kind of a man will post pics whether they are valid or not because it is for the cause. Its what I refer to as the make beleive world. Its in someones mind but is not real. If you read his post he talks about being warned about snowmobilers at the beginning of the story, He didnt decide he didnt want snowmobilers on the mountain because he seen the sleds somewhere they shouldnt be, he didnt want snowmobiers on the mountain period and that was decided along time before he seen any sleds in the wrong place if he even did.
Its like where we hunt, at the beginning of the road it says with a really impressive looking sign no hunting from here to the river. I know of three areas that are huntable behind that sign but someone was gonna in there mind make the world a better place by posting a sign.
Ive got a lady that I work for that has horses, her and her husband were bragging about how that had a big part in making it so that the dirtbikers couldnt ride up by canyon creek. This same lady hasnt been out of her field with her horses for over 5 yrs because she is afraid of them and her husband has never ridden. Yet she is bragging about how she had such a big part in making it so other people cant enjoy the woods in the name of her being able to ride her horses up there without the noise of the bikes scaring the horses.
These type of people I refer to as idiots.
The thing that strikes me about people that are busy minding other peoples gardens is they usually dont have enough time for there own yet they just keep minding someone elses.
My own personal thought about all this is that idiots should be ignored.

Sad I started sledding to get away from the masses, they just keep following me. I used to be able to ride my dirtbike up on Galbraith, hell 4x4 also. Cant do that now!!! I could make a list of all the places we could "play", Whatcom County is far different from back in the day. Sorry to say that its only a matter of time before they gain all control!! Breaking the law is wrong. We just gotta watch whos making these laws.
