Does anyone out there know if they can or will re-adjust my clutch/jet my carbs for the high altitude up there? Or should I have someone where I live that knows about 2-stroke engines tinker with it? I'm sure they will charge an arm and a leg if they do.

I am coming from an altitude of around 2,500 feet. I drive a '11 summit 600 146" and it's been never been messed with since leaving the factory. I read in the owners manual that the factory settings take care of sea-level - 8,000 feet. Thanks.
 
I would have your skidoo dealer do it. Not knocking bear lodge but they run polaris so I'm not sure they would have the parts or knowledge to work on your sled.
 
You shouldn't have to touch your sled. I have friends that have ski doo and they don't touch a thing on them before they head out west.

have your dealer do it for sure . they should have a guide sheet from the factory on a good starting place for your jetting and clutching bear dont like to work on anything but there rentals and have no idea how a ski doo clutch works I.M.O not kicking bear in the back here im sure they would help in anyway they could but taking your doo to them is like a deer in the headlights look

you can call action motor sports in gillette wy . he could tell you what u need to do all u might need to do is change your clickers up a few

If youre ski doo is a 2011 you should not have to do a thing for jetting because its new enough to have a compensator or may even be fuel injected. As far as youre weights go they are on clickers and very easy to change. Id run them on 4 or 5 at the big horns. you just loosen the jam nut on your secondary and turn the bolt to the appropriate number. make sure to get them all on the same number. hope this helps

thanks for the input. not really familiar with what your talking about though, I have never had to mess with my sleds as this will be my first mountain trip. hopefully I won't have to mess with the jetting, I will call my dealership as it gets closer to get a better idea.
 
I had a 99 Summit 670 and it had altitude compensator so I'm sure yours compensates the fuel for altitude. The parts fiche for an everest shows a fuel pump in the tank for $400+ so I assume fuel injected.

As said, your primary clutch has easy adjustability, no removal needed. Look in your owners manual. I think it takes a 10mm to loosen 3 nuts and a 14mm to turn the bolts. Just be careful to not pull the bolts all the way out or you will need to pull clutch apart to put back together. The bolt heads have numbers so just put each one on the same number.

Very easy, you can do it.
 
No jetting needed, just adjust the 3 clicker bolts on the side of your primary (front) clutch to keep your rpm at the desired rpm ( should be a little sticker behind your secondary clutch telling you the rpm range you should run at, at least there is on my 09. Each clicker position will raise or lower your rpm apprx. 200 rpm.
