There's a few on here in the military that have said some things that could be troublesome in the wrong hands.
"Freedom of Speech" as long as you don't piss off the government. If he did indeed threaten someone and was a legitimate threat, then yeah, he should be talked too. But just spouting off on the internet.......???

Good news is, there's so many people saying anti government things these days, you'd have to arrest more than half the country. But, don't kid yourself. If freedom keeps slipping away, the "special police" may pull up some old web cache's and come have a talk with you. Stalin would have loved to have had a more complete list of people to kill.

If he indeed did make personal threats against FBI agents then the police did the right thing checking it out. Case law has said time and time again that you can and will be held responsible for any postings that you make on the internet. Thousands of people have been prosecuted using internet postings as evidence.
On the other hand we are for sure headed for times where even speaking out against the government makes you an enemy of the government. The re-indtroduction of the Fairness Doctrine is a stepping stone to that.

it says they found guns, AND SEVERAL COMPUTERS. oh boy. watch out. The kid had COMPUTERS in his house. sorry just seemed funny they made a point of saying that.
Please refer to Ammendment 1 of the US Constitution. No one is threatening anyone here and i consider this a peaceable gathering.

OMG not computers. They probably think I'm the equivelant of Bin Laden.
Here's a picture of what my little home work area looks like right now. I work on computers at my home, you can see 4 in this picture. One laptop facing the other way, another laptop on the far end of the couch, a computer just behind the laptop with the screen perched on top of it and then another monitor which currently does not have a computer hooked up to it on the desk. I have another computer sitting on the floor that you can't see in this pic.
And there's enough parts laying around to build another computer, I think I may have one in the closet too.

I recently had to go to Phoenix and my carry on bag was a laptop bag with 2 laptops in it, one did not have a monitor and is the one I was at my booth with a regular flatscreen hooked up to it. The looks and questions I got from TSA as that was going through security were amazing. I guess a monitorless laptop is worth a 2nd look....???

It's not how many [computers] you have, it's how you're using them....
All they said though is that he had "several". Which kinda makes it sound like people should be suspicious if someone they know has several computers.
All of my illegal cyber activity goes on inside my LAN, so it's not illegal at that point.
Well, if the threats were "legit" I see no reason to leave the idiot alone. If it was "internet warrior" stuff like you'd see on any forum, I don't see how you could prosecute the idiot. You wouldn't walk up to someone in public and threaten them, would you? You could certainly understand that if you did, you could be punished for it, right? Well, how different is the internet from normal communication in this day and age?
