BD '11 Turbo Kit Upgrade Status?

Anyone yet? Sounds like the '12 kits are starting to show up, hoping that my intercooler is on the way soon.

We appreciate everyones patience on these upgrades and they are shipping as fast as possible. Some non-intercooled upgrades have already gone out and the intercooler upgrades are starting to ship today.
We really appreciate the comments on here about not-calling to check status. We only have some much man-power to put these kits together and our time is better spent building kits than on the phone trying to answer questions about delivery dates.

Heading out to Carls Cycle this weekend to pick up my sled with the update kit and we are rding Sunday. I will report back with results. Probably going to run 12lbs.

Got my kit on and ran her yesterday up in McCall. Not ideal conditions as there was no base but enough to tell. The kit is WAY better then last years set-up. I ran 11.5-12lbs yesterday and the sled rips. She really comes alive at that boost level. Granted this was on the trail, the warmest I saw yesterday for air temps was 129. With the 2 extra injectors the sled just feels so much smoother. I realize that is a funny description, but the mid range and top end are just smooth. No popping or anything. I cant wait to get it on a hill and load the motor. I felt like it needs to be loaded more but due to snow conditions I wasn't going to mess with clutching yet. I honestly cant say there is more lag with the intercooler either. Actually, it felt better on bottom then it did last year without the intercooler. Boondockers did it right and I am beyond happy with the sled. I can't wait to get some miles on it, turn her up a little and play with settings. I didnt touch a thing yesterday, just ran the piss out of it and smiled from ear to ear!!!

set up

Thanks for the info!! Can you tell us a little more about your setup?? Are you running the timing key? What are you doing for fuel?? And did you update to the new helix and weights or are you running the same clutching from your 2011 Pro? Sorry about all the questions. I got mine home but haven't been able to take it out yet. I'm super excited to get out! It kicked a$$ the other day on the track stand:face-icon-small-win

Whats the new helix and weights. I just ordered a set of polaris weights this morning.

SWEEEEET. Just in time to crash it off a cliff. :spit::becky:

OR just in time to sell it to ME.

I've ridden many turbos that popped and missed. Only a couple that didn't. I want to ride one that sounds flawless.
I saw your updates this weekend. -8° sounds cold to ride in Nov.

I was told by a BD rep the other day, that the timing key is only needed if you are running pump gas that you are unsure of the true octane, or worried about it being too low. i.e., if you are running a race fuel, or avgas, and have the octane at a specific rating to work with your boost level, the timing key isn't helpful. wondering about this train of thought being correct or not. Any thoughts?

So heres the deal....to the best of my knowledge it is the new EBC or it has been reprogrammed. I know I have a few maps in the program and whatever the heck is in there, it flat worked! I dont know about the timing key. Carls Cycle did everything and said they added all of the updates and new goodies. I ran 60/40 race/premium for fuel at 11-12lbs. Clutching I left what I had last year....I think. Right now I have 165/320(Almond) with 72 EPI's, 54/46 and Black/Orange. I doubt I will stay with this because I think she needs to be loaded more, but we'll see. Need better snow and a hill. Guessing I will try SLP pink nd maybe the 54/48 but may even go back to trying the old Dragon helix, 40/46. I heard that worked well with the new kits. Hope this answers everyones questions.

Scott......she is lighter and faster now so I assume she will fly off the cliffs better ;)

Oberty,
Lets see pics of your charge tube. There isn't really a detail on hooking up the boost accuator, and it is a bit different than the original one. It looks like I need to go to napa for some extra 3/8 fuel line as the original line isn't long enough to wrap around to the inlet, and there wasn't any line supplied.

I also had several small alum burrs on the drilled holes in the intercooler. I had to inspect carefully, knock them off and make sure they fell out.

Thank You for posting pics.
I see the rubber hose coming off your charge tube, is it connected to your boost acuator further down the line, or does it just daylight to atmosphere?

Shoot I dont know. I'll check when I get home tonight. You may just want to call Carls Cycle. They did the install and would know.
