Base Gasket and head shave mod??

Hello I am interested if anyone has ran the thicker basegasket mod on the
800HO motor?

What thickness Gaskets are you running to raise the port timing and how much you shaving the head to how much Squish???

My motor is stock other than it has Wiseco Piston top end I haven`t had it apart but was like this when I bought it had a Wiseco sticker on the outer airbox and was told by seller had top end gone thru with wiseco pistons 700 miles before I bought it, I doubt it was bored to clean up but not sure.

Will the wiseco piston change the squish measurement?

Can I also run this gasket mod or port timing with trail ported cylinders I plan on doing later on?

I was lookin around the Crankshop site and don`t see what gaskets they offer for this engine mostly seen the tripples and other engines.

Any info or advice would be awesome,

Thanks, Wildcard

don't know about the gaskets but if your engine has been bored then it has been sleeved otherwise has plated cylinders, just a side note if you do any serious hillclimbing let your sled motor cool down before making multi runs, had about 2000 mi on my wisco pistons using semi syn oil caught a ring because of heat(top ring) wisco's were installed in 08 non coated. alot of debate on this web want more info go to rk tec and see what they say. also your 04 sounds very similar to my 04 have been beating it all year.

Thanks Fez, is that your number?

Thanks black9038 good info I really myself didn`t like the idea of the Wiseco piston I would rather have an SPI piston if it comes to aftermarket, Sorry but I Will Not deal with Rk Tech

your motor is a nicasil bore...doubt it was bored...granted wiseico does sell a 1 mm over size (820) but we will assume its stock bore...as for base gasket thickness...stock is usually the 6 hole (.024") I run a .048" to bump port timing...then cut the head .020" (summits already have high compression/tight squish head) so I actually safen it up a bit...all else being stock...add BPR9ES spark plugs (gap to .018") and you will gain a solid 5 hp...BJ

Thanks John, good info.

Do you sell the gasket you just recommended?

Ya good point about the plated cylinders, I would bet my cylinder haven`t been bored and probably just wiseco pistons in the stock cylinder maybe for just a replacement to the single ring pistons most recommed to change in this year engine

Do you do in you shop machine work like domes in the stock heads?

Also curious to what you think of trail porting, does it make the engine more tuning finicy or pretty set and reliable?

can you port the plated cylinders or have to sleeve them?

Thanks, Darren

I have a local shop doo my machining...I also do a 150hp trail port kit for $995 (porting, head cut, ex valve mod, gaskets, 2 ring pistons, head mod)...I modify the the stock head or go with RKT for billet domes...call for details...ty-BJ

I have both bj hot rod 800 and just a trail ported motor. Monsters for being stock bore.
