Bar hugging with the Pro

bad injectors?

I am calling the dealer tomorrow to verify but there are some posts about a possible bad lot of injectors. I have tried cleaning out the spark plug wires and no improvement.

I sent sled to the dealer, they changed the throttle safety switch, and the shut-off switch. :face-icon-small-con Went out today for a good 82 mile ride and this bar hugging issue is getting worse. Must of happen like 50 times.
My chest is sore from running into mountain bar. I will be investing in a Tech- vest after this ride.
Anyway heres how it work out, I'm riding on a river and your going wide open throttle at 8150 RPMs everything is going just fine, start cutting around a curve at high speed ,like you would when you side hill, the motor is working hard, then you slowly feel the RPMs drop to about 7800-9500 RPMs it varries its not always the same RPM when it happens, then bang you've the hugged the bar, I looked at the RPMs and there at 6000-6500, then it kicks back ON to 8150 RPMs then your good for a while, maybe. Toward the end of the ride I could tell when this would happen, seems it happens when motor is under load in deep snow, I would hear the motor drop in RPMs each time before it would happen. I would brace myself, but guess what sometimes you aren't ready. This also happens when your going straight in deep snow WOT, again it's when the motor is under load. Will be calling my dealer Monday morning. I sure hope they can find a FIX. Will keep you posted.

Mine is doing something a bog just like yours, riding in powder it was fine but once we hit the trail I couldnt even keep up to my group, had to work the throttle to keep it going, problem has gotten much worse in the last 100 miles. Sled goes in tom. and there is injectors waiting at the dealer. And yes, they are yellow.

check my post under wiring, my injector wire had rubbed through, was causing similar problem.

I have blue injectors and I have the low speed miss and the WOT bogging so do not think its a yellow injector problem.

Mine has been doing this since new. So kind of a piss off. My buddy was riding the demo, Assault Switchback and was getting these issues also his has 120 miles. This is B.S. that should of been dealth with at the factory before they were released. I guess they need a couple more dummies to test for them for free. Good thing I got a great dealer to work with.

DET

I have problems with my Pro RMK, it stumbles pretty often when I give it WOT from 4500-5500 rpm, then it makes a "poff" and often runs on 1 cyl until I let off. This happens at least 1/10 of the times I dry. Sometimes it just misfires and picks up but often I have to let off to make it go on 2 cyls again.

This happens both with the ethanol and non-ethanol plugs, running good gas. Didn't notice this before, but have had a couple of deT-errors, could it be related?

slight missfire at wot.

My pro has a intermittent missfire at wot. Started at 150 miles getting worse every ride. Dealer replaced spark plugs and said gap on one was .020 and other .027. there was no change after new plugs. it has blue injectors I checked all wiring connections and noticed that the pto injector plug was pulled very tight and might be an issue but i dont want to get too involved with tearing this thing down since its under warranty but I hope its not at the dealer more than its on the snow.

better but not completely

350 miles on mine now.I took 1/4" off the end of both spark plug boots and checked gap. (per Polaris recommend)Took the hood off so I could get them pushed on until they snap.If you dont hear a snap they arent on. I also checked all of the rectifier wires.I have yet to "find" anything that I can feel good about fixing it but I have somehow improved it.Yesterday I thought alright its not doing it and then it did it twice on the last pull coming out:mad2: I also changed gas stations and added a little de-icer?? I also had my shut off switch duct taped up and I changed it to a rubberband. It is better but still bothersome. Really thought it had gone away but it's back. I am going to go back thru the wiring and see if I can find a rub. What a PITA POS:mad2:

Dropped it off at the Dealer, they will try a new set of injectors. Hopefully they will figure this thing out . I'm getting to the end of the straw with this sled. This is becoming a safety issue, I hope I don't have to resort to selling it this sled cause I don't know what I would replace it with.:face-icon-small-con

Well got sled back. They change injectors and ecu. It still did it. They tried the non-ethenol plug and said it cured it and to give a try. Was also told to put octane boost. Well took it out for a ride, well within the first mile I wacked my helmet quite hard on my mountain bar.:mad2:F***in sh** :mad2:,then it cut out and reved at 6500 then kicked back on. I rode the sled for 45 miles it still cuts out once in a while, it cut out 5-6 times, but now you have no notice when it's gonna do it. Alot better but still a problem.
Anything else a guy should check . Everything is well conected, no wires touching or rubbed through, caps and plugs all checked.
I guess I'll ride it like this till Polaris can cure the problem. I think my mechanic gets to ride my sled as much as me, oh well at least it's not as bad as before.

if its coming back on at 6500 check your powervalve base gaskets. one of mine was blown and doing the same thing. also the color of the injectors you have is not the actuall color on the injector itself, the color on my injectors themsleves is blue, but the colored tape on the wiring is yellow and if you read the inside of your ecm it will also tell you what "color" your injectors are. mine are yellow. good thing they told me;)

My PRO does the middle RPM burble and doing the the bog when going to WOT it also would bog on long WOT runs. I think I have a couple of this abnormalities cured. The re-gap of plugs to 18 thousands seams to have fixed the long WOT bog. Yesterday I found the the sudden bog when going to WOT was in fact the rev limiter cutting in. Seems motor was over tacking put heavier weights primary clutch motor did not bog again. For those of you having the middle to WOT bog try using the play back function in the MFD. I did not think I was over revving but I did get to see 8500 on display after last bog. As for the burble the search continues.
