Bar hugging with the Pro

I'm having stumble issues when I'm at 5000-6000 RPMs going on and off throttle and at wide open throttle on long pulls. It's like the motor shuts off for a split second, just enough to hug your bars, then bang it's ok then your good for a while till it does it again. Kind of scary when your riding the river with flood water at spots. RPMs are also all over, one pull it's 7900 then the next pull it's 8300. What gives.:face-icon-small-con Motor has 9hrs and have good fuel. Any one got an idea what it could be. These sled were tested for 100000 miles so why do I have issues.

I had to have a kill switch replaced. As soon as I would lay off the throttle the motor would sound and act like the kill switch was tripped. Wouldn't die but would definetly push you against the bars. I am the second person to have this problem and it was repaired under warranty on Friday. Didn't ride last weekend but will be out this weekend. I sure hope that's my problem....and your's. Easy fix.

Checked ECM harness as you said, it's ok. Sent it to dealer he could not duplicate what was happening. Just found an air bubble in oil line. Will pick it up tomorrow and give it a try on thursday.

Im having the exact same problems, i was thinking the tps but no answers yet. any sure fix yet??

We have replaced the tps sensor on one pro, due to similiar problems and all is good. Demo unit still has similiar problems but clears up after 5-10 miles. Will check into tps on it aswell.

I have the same thing going on.
Replaced the TPS--- Did not help
Checked the ECM---- All Is good not the issue
Checked the oil line--- All is good there to not the issue

The Dealer is working with me great and replaced my Throttle to check out the throttle switch and took the ECM from a demo for me to try if the throttle does not help. I will ride tomorrow and let you all know.

I'm having the same issue. The first ride with the ethanol plug in I had no issues. The second ride I switched to non ethanol and it did it twice. Then I had two more rides with no problems, then yesterday it happened twice. I almost wonder if the sled kills the fuel for a second if it senses a detonation but I am not very educated in how the sled works.

I'm thinking about putting the ethanol plug in and seeing how it runs for a hundred miles or so. Im going to Valdez next week and I will try both ways for two days. I'll post my findings when I get back.

I also tried switching from non ethanol to ethanol but it did not work for me.
I have no codes and hope that the new throttle switch works out.

I have problems with my Pro RMK, it stumbles pretty often when I give it WOT from 4500-5500 rpm, then it makes a "poff" and often runs on 1 cyl until I let off. This happens at least 1/10 of the times I dry. Sometimes it just misfires and picks up but often I have to let off to make it go on 2 cyls again.

This happens both with the ethanol and non-ethanol plugs, running good gas. Didn't notice this before, but have had a couple of deT-errors, could it be related?

Rode the bag off this sled, it rips. I didn't have the low stumble, but on long pulls it did happen again, many times. I'm not checking if any lights on the dash are On at that speed but it just about feels like it was a safety feature. Maybe it shuts itself off momentarily to prevent a leaning out motor. I don't know but this isn't normal. A few of my friend have also noticed it so it's not in my head. Oh! well. I will put more miles on and hope this one goes away too.

yours sounds like you are getting deto...I would try a different gas supplier..or some octane boost and see if it solves your issues..but yours sounds like the ecm is doing what it is supposed to do to protect the engine....

try this...put in the non ethanol plug, change brands of fuel and what station you buy from..with the way yours does it one trip and not the next..sounds like the fuel is borderline and getting deto..might try 2 gallons of octane boost, av gas or race gas mixed in with good premium and see if it solves the issue..I use chevron and so far mines been great...

Just got back from the test ride but had no luck with the big fix.
New fuel from a different gas station 91 oct. non eth.
New Throttle and harness
New TPS
New plugs
Tried buth fuel chips
No air in the oil lines
ECM is plugged in tight
All wires look good at the steering post
No codes and did not go into DET

I will try a new ECM Next. and then I guess a ?

yep noticed it in mine today, read kelsey's post will try it and see, still love this flippin sled!

Ya! Look at it good, cause it might get deleted. Get all the info possible.:face-icon-small-ton

Now you don't need to worry about it getting deleted (Although it was deleted by the author the first time.......)

Polaris PRO WOT Issues..
If your sled is experiencing issues (cutting out like it is shutting on and off) when you pin and hold the throttle.. Or if when WOT, your sled has a quick hesitation that comes and goes..... Please listen up..

Eric.. if this goes South AGAIN... it will be the last....

Polaris has had some problems with intermittent injectors.. they have authorized the dealers to change out injectors..

You can try this... but I do NOT think this is your problem...worth a shot though...

OR.. you can do what we did to fix our problems...

Polaris???? Are you listening???

1) Blow out the spark plug cap with air and make sure that they are on tight to the coil wire.. and to the top of your plug... There is resistive build up in the gap and the spark energy is getting redirected to this resistive build up and causing a mis-fire..

2) Re-gap the plugs to .018".

3) Make sure your cap is not loose!!

Try this.. and see if your problems disappear...

IT COSTS NOTHING TO TRY!!!

This is NOT a deto problem or a limp mode problem.. the ECU will store all fault codes.. Ours had none and neither have many others...

NOT all sleds are plagued with this issue.. but MANY are!!!
