Bar height, what rise are mine?

I will mention, grip heaters on poo are way harder to install than on Doo's it seems.

Has anyone run into this?

Me and my buddy fought this bolt for 30 minutes. we were just trying to get some plastic moved enough to get access to the Velcro pouch of doom to plug the new grip heaters in.

I didn't use power tools, just a hand ratchet. but the bolt just kept spinning and spinning and not coming out. Eventually I had to just pull it out with some vice grips. It seems Polaris from the factory must have really reefed this thing in there and tore all the threads out.

I rode it without the bolt in there the other day, I might try just running a tap in and using a new bolt. but I may have to go up a size. Kind of ridiculous for that to be like that on a brand new sled.

Haven't had too much issue but I definitely know for a fact those bolts are very easy to get started cross threaded. Could be factory but maybe even the dealer. Running in a tap same size or even running in a new bolt might be enough. For removing the console it sure helps using this tool my friend designed and 3D printed for me. He made me a few versions trying to get it better so I have one in the garage, one in the tunnel bag, and one in the truck tool box lol:

The tank nut on my previous sleds looked pretty "custom" too. I used to use a set of these, and swear a lot lol.

I just tighten it by hand now. it doesn't do anything anyway. but getting it off the first time to install the dura pro tether.. required some custom screwdriver and hammer bangin

Thanks, ordered a few.

I hope just a tap and new bolt fixes it. I mean it really doesn't do anything anyway other than kinda hold some of that dash stuff in place. bathe it in blue loctite and call it a day if it hold at all is my plan

It was annoying though that was the longest part of the new bars/grips/heaters install was trying to figure out what on earth was going on with that stupid bolt.

Ha ha yeah it's fun sometimes when that five minute job turns into 2 hours because a bolt breaks, cross threads, or falls down into the engine bay abyss lol. ....or the one tool you need is suddenly missing. Usually that's because I put it down somewhere 4 feet away and can't find it ...

It is a 6x1.00MM. You don't have to use that cheap John Deere bolt that Polaris uses. I have always swapped them out to an Allen head. I buy the bolts and nuts and a lot of stuff from Pro-bolt or any of the dirt bike and sport-bike bolt houses. You can order styles and colors in what you want. Polaris uses some cheap stuff on a lot of there bolts.

Stood on my Poo and my lynx back to back to back in the trailer. bar heights about the same really.

I don't know that I would want the tall ones and I'm 6'6". they seem fine.

I'm 6'3" and wound up putting a shorter riser in my '23 Shredder when I had it. The '24 Boost I bought as a hold over earlier this year came with the factory 'high' (sliver) bars. I went for one ride with the high bars and I felt like the sled was flinging me around as opposed to me flinging the sled around, so I opted to put a set of Burandt bars on which are actually slightly shorter than the Polaris low bars and have a little less sweep to them and its been perfect for me this season so far.

I used to always put a 2" riser on my older sleds, but once the Axys came out I started to see the wisdom with the lower bars, and thats definitely true on the Lynx and Matryx sleds IMO.

Well the nice thing now that I got the cheetah setup on my Polaris, if I want it lower it I can buy a lower FTP riser like 3" or 2" ( I have 4" ). and not have to change everything lol.. Where the factory Polaris bars you have to change grips, heaters, the whole 9 to raise or lower them.

I'm liking the 6" total i have on my polaris now. ( the stock ones were 5" total and a bit low for me )
