Baker snow..

Dude why you putting it out there??????

from gravy
yep just watching and waiting.....for the big express.......

WHEREDAFUGAWEE............ do not worry

"THE BIG EXPRESS" is just what gravy calls fordys unit

PLEASE!!! Call the forest service before heading to baker to make sure it is OFFICIALLY open. The greenies are looking real hard for ANY ammo to use against us and going up to early is a big deal to them.

If it keeps doing what it has been it wont be long before it's open.:)

Just relaying a message

I heard from an informant there is at least four feet in the meadows the river crossing is still pretty open and it was fresh tracks from the parking lot but im just relaying the message dont shoot the messenger! Personally im not going tell the groomer pushes snow across the river crossing. To be first ones over pheanut last year it took kpilot a friend and I right around three hours to make it from the river crossing to up and around pheanut knob just to realize there is a **** ton of trees that you dont realize are there, So hopefully its open be safe watch out for the landmines.:beer;:beer;

It's only open if the forest service says so.Even if there is more then 2'...

They should have it open if there is that much! What a great start to the season.

I tried to call the forest service but cant find my number book.Anybody else call them?

Closed!!!!

I spoke with Joyce @ Forest Sevice and she stated from a letter that Lief Hazlett wrote on Monday Nov 9th that the snopark is closed till further review. The head guy - Otis Allen is out on vacation this week and will return Monday. When he returns he will meet with the groomer to review. I've got a call into Lief to find out if its ok to ride or will tickets be issued. Lief is out today, not sure if he is in Friday.

There number is 360-856-5700 ext 515

Sounds like whoever went up there shouldent have.Being the first is not worth getting the mountain shut down....... For those that say it wont happen, someday it is going to and riding early(before the forest service says it's ok) just gives them more ammo to close it.

Please stay off till it's is officially open...The glacier cruisers work so hard to keep baker open and a few idiots will ruin it for everyone.

I've talked to Leif and Otis multiple times in the past and they have always told me that it is the rider's responsibility to stay out if it is less than 24" at the meadow. They do not open or close it and do not give out tickets (the sheriff's department does though if you are riding where vehicles can travel the road so you better unload where the last 4x4 got stuck or you risk a ticket).

That is what I have been told unless they have changed it.

Leif's ext is 515
Otis ext is 227

I think this sums it up.Lief himself has stated it's CLOSED....

Now,does this mean the parking area is the only thing closed(mabie because they didn't expect to have to plow/groom this early in the season?) or the whole mountain? I don't know.

Talked to the Baker ranger station today!......Otis will be back on Monday!! 99% chance that they will open up Baker by next week. I will be there for Friday and Saturday NEXT week!!
