The BAD!!!!

On Saturday we rode up the hill on the gravel and discovered friends coming down with a disabled sled. We stopped to get the scoop. It was decided instead of tow it down the gravel road Brian would go get the truck. Brian rounded the corner 100 feet behind us he discovered our riding buddy injured and disoriented in the road.

Michael had driven up the road and surfed a patch of snow to cool the sled on the left side. After he cleared the snow his left ski fell off and it stuck and pivoted the sled left, over the embankment and sent it crashing down the hill.
The upper A arm was broken in multiple locations.

Michael had high sided and was knocked out, his shoulder was injured, probably collar bone break.

We climbed down the bottom to the sled and proceeded to turn it around.

Cass thought he would try and side hill to get it out. Good idea but the ground was too soft.

Unfortunatly it wasn't going to work. Then a Jeep Rubicon drove by and we yelled to him to see if he had a winch. He did and stopped and gave us assistance.

Michael had purchased new SLP ski combo a couple of months ago. The Ski came apart and fell off. The ski was above on the side of the road.

I was the one with the Jeep. Glad to be of assistance. Would have been a lot of work to muscle that thing up manually. Hope for a speedy recovery for your friend. Sleds are replacable. Bodies not so easy. Heading up Thursday for my first ride of the season. Yes, first ride. Been away for work all season. Again, glad I could help.

You made a bad day better, I had no idea how we were going to get that sled up the hill. It was amazing you drove by at the perfect time and had the ultimate tool to handle the job. It was awesome how you resolve what at the time seemed impossible. Thank you so much from all of us that were there that day!

You had a banner day, rescued us and then got a land rover unstuck. You had a number of people that were really happy you didn't stay home that day.

Thank you!

access report

snow starts next pull out after last parking lot (1.2 miles of dry road). next pull out before switchback where you can park on the corner and still have space to turn 4 place around. flat deck or short trailer only above/after last parking lot. trail washboard till you get to past meadows.

snow was bumpy under new snow by peanut. Had to feather throttle on hill climbs due to gravely bumpy surface.

The higher you went the better it was. 5000 to 6000 is where the snow and surface was much better.

just an fyi.
