right out of grant you can head up hall valley (<10 mins from grant) and hit webster pass and drop into kenosha or over to montezuma. only problem is that the snow can be hit or miss with tons of rocks and other landmines. when it snows and snows a lot, imo it can be a great area and extremely challenging!

If by Kayak Run you mean place to go Snowmobiling that's really sick and close by, then YES!

Not the closest, but Cottonwood Pass would be worth the short drive
after a new dump.
