bad news no compression and brocken ring :( need help fixing

ya so i brang the sled in to get my suspicions confirmed after trying the easy stuff and listening to it run and sure as chit the rattle i heard is a broken ring.. quoted over $1300 to get it fixed..i would try tackle the job but dont have an area big enough for a job like this that will require removing engine ec with a single car garage.. if there is anyone close to my area that knows these machines and could use a few extra bucks id really apriecaite it..im not looking for a freebee but being outta work there is just no way i can afford to spend that much money right now and id rather deal with the issue now rather than worry about it next season as will drive me nuts untill i know it ready to go( just how i am) lol.
i can drop it off and help do the work or what-ever works best for the person located in beaver dam but no problem driving a bit to get some help..thax all

You don't need alot of space and at least on most motors, you don't even need to remove the motor. I have done top ends a bunch in the trailer at the hotel parking lot so I could ride the next day.

If it's an 05, you can leave the motor in it. Hopefully your cylinder is in decent shape. I just replaced my base gasket and orings this morning. Took about 5 hours from start to finish. First time too. So, if it's your rings, it's basically the same job to get at them. The 05's have lots of room to negotiate the work. If it's the 06, I think you gotta pull er out. Good luck bro, and seriously consider doing it yourself, when it can save you a grand!!:face-icon-small-hap
