Bad news folks - funds are about gone for sno-park plowing in many areas!

Tar: The plowing money is gone and they want us to take from grooming to fund plowing or simply pass the hat. I have a copy of the budget with a handwritten subtraction of $114,000.00 (which they "lost" and "found" their mistake on Friday 2.1.08.

The $70,000 for law enforcement can get canned, along with the $17,000.00 these people spend on "travel" each year to try and tell us they know what they are doing.

I'm applying for a spot on the committee. Our representative lives maybe 20 miles from the meeting place and STILL stayed in the hotel! If I'm on the committee I will pay my own way just like they should be doing.

I'm sure this is not an easy job. But I figure I can't ask them to change unless I'm willing to step up to the plate myself.

That was one wild meeting. I can't wait to take my local state rep to lunch. He's gonna LOVE what I have to say. Maybe we need to take him to dinner

What if we were to lobby for some funding out of the lotto funds. I am willing to give up on some more $$ if the state is willing to keep better track of it.

I doubt it. We need emergency relief. They want us to pay for it ourselves. These folks were short on answers and short on knowledge about where the funds are going and why. They don't even know how overdrawn there are as of yesterday. That is how they were $114,000.00 short for this year. They failed to adequatley track last year's expendiatures.
