bad gas mileage

I have a 2006 900 and i get some bad mileage out of it what can i do i have done the tps set up it runs so much better but still gets bad mileage

If your getting around 6mph your doing good hang in there and keep extra can on hand

It's a 900, get used to it. I go through a full tank plus the 5 gallons of extra fuel I pack with me on a good day.

The price we pay for having power on demand. My 9 is no worse on fuel than any other 800 I ride with. 900cc two strokes are no ponies!!

I outlast either of my 2 friends who ride 800 XP's by a long shot. When they run out, I have close to 1/4 tank left.

Thats a tough one, man if it truly is getting that bad of mileage, there must be something wrong. The only thing I can think of is dirty injectors that are sticking open? Des it run good otherwise? is it hard to start?

whats your clutching and gear setup, what are u running for max rpm,

i have stock gears in it and i run 7800 with it after i did the tps set up it is hard to start when it is worm cold it starts good. can i run some fuel injecter cleaner throw it? I have some 2 stroke ip amsoil will that work?

How are you determining your mileage? on my 05 900 I used to think I was getting terrible mileage because the gauge would tell me I was empty so early in the day. one time I just kept riding (with spare gas on board) and rode for miles and miles and never did run out. Since then I've always pushed it and still haven't ever run out. My gauge is extremely pessimistic.

Or maybe he just rides it hard...the way you ride determines your mileage more than anything else.
