I just want to know how you feel about local yamaha dealer buying two pro climbs instead of riding what he sells.
We have two dealers in town 1 Yamaha and the other is cat. What does that say to the peeps who spent their hard earned $$$ at his dealership?

Did you ask them?

Maybe they are thinking about taking over the other stealership and combining under one roof?

Maybe they just wanted to try something different. My neighbor who owns a chevy dealership drives a porsche..along with alot of other cars...big deal

I could make stuff up all day....but just like you I don't have a clue. Why would it even matter?

I like your attitude, wish everyone could think the same way

Yamaha sells much more than sleds ,maybe hes not a fan of four stroke sleds ? the pros are a cheep turn key sled that dont need to be boosted to have fun on :face-icon-small-win .

I look at this way, if he sells brand "X" and personnally rides brand "Y" he'll have more credibility when he's says brand X is better at this, that or the other than brand Y. A lot of sales people will only ride the brand(s) they sell which make me wonder what they base their opinion on when stating their brand is better than the others while trying to take your money.

Benchmarking the competition is never a bad thing. He is lucky to be able to ride all the sleds and inform the consumer of the pro's and cons of each. He no longer has to BS his way through telling someone the brand he sells is the best.

He may prefer the Pro but if he is trying to sell Yamahas then IMO it'd make more sense to ride one. If you want to sell a sled one of the best ways is to have someone just throw a leg over your sled whenever the opportunity presents itself and let them take it for a rip. Pretty tough to do when you are riding the competions iron. Just doesn't make any business sense to me regardless of whether he likes the Yami or hates it. JMO its not smart business.

Ill be the first...
Because the pro is a superior product!

With money come choice..with that said ill assume he chooses a cheaper machine because it is ready to rip "right out the box" JMO
Yami is great...at what it does! Providing a quality sled for the (average) rider. Ill prob get flamed for this but, i can speak from experience here, i have ridden both! Flame away:boxing:

Seriously does it matter what he rides? As long as he is respecting the rules of the trail/hill and being safe its all about having fun. I know the summer has been long but it will be snowing soon and this all will be forgotten. I have owned everything but a Cat, but if Yami doesn't put a turbo on from the factory pretty soon.... who knows.

I AGREE WITH YOU.

I also agree with you...I work at my Dad's Yamaha dealership and between all four of our personal sleds we have one of each of the models. which works great when a customer comes in and wants to text drive a sled I can run home and grab whichever sled the customer wants to buy and bring it to the dealership. works great and has sold quite a bit of iron!

I was working at a cat dealership, snowchecked a brand new zr800 LE in 01, snow was flying and I had no sled, yet all the non snowchecked sleds had showed up early enough that we were running grass drags on em!

needless to say I went and bought a brand new xc sp 800 poo while still working @ my local cat dealership.

my dealer rep along with arctic cat had no clue where my sled was, I think around january it ended up in southern california (only about 500 miles away) they kept telling me to wait.

as far as the grass drags went it was myself and my other cat shop sled 1+2 for the series in pts.

my boss at the time was cool about it (what really could he have said???) he told me at least we will have an honest opinion about this new poo!

maybe he bought them for a side by side comparison? ride one then the other back to back. maybe he wants to shoe horn a t-nytro into the pro. either way who cares!!

Well, at least when they blow up out on the mountain he will have Yamahas available to tow them back.
