backpaks, who makes the best one?

Not sure about new. But mine has a pouch inside that fits my back shovel perfect. Probably doubles as a bladder for about a gallon of fireball or water. There is also a spot to put the handle on the outside but I don't trust it so I put it inside.

my dakine heli pro is 12 years old and going.. but im tempted by an ogio flight vest or avi pack

If you decide on just getting a vest, don't rule out the Wary Avi-Vest. Thats right, they make just a vest as well as the vest with the avalanche bag. We wear the demo avi-vest all summer long on bikes, hiking, fishing etc, and it has been awesome. Definitely right there with the Ogio Flight Vest that we offer as well!
