Backcountry Survival Course in the Fort Collins

[Tyler's Backcountry Awareness]

Dale Petefish of Rocky Mountain School of Bow Hunting and Backcountry Survival would like to do a backcountry survival course in the Fort Collins on January 11 from 9:30-3:30, will cover fire building, land nav, and survival skills to keep you alive this winter if you get caught out. We need 20 people to to get him to come down for this 7hr course. It will cost $50 and he will be donating back to TBA to help us raise money for Avalanche Awareness. Sorry, it is only available on Saturday at the moment. If we get enough people we may be able to open a Sunday course but at the moment we do not have enough.

Why can't we get avy classes for $50 bucks a pop? Avy classes in my opinion are outrageously expensive. I tried to get a class together for the group i ride with but it was well over a grand for two days of someones time...call me crazy but I must be in the wrong line of work if you can pull in a grand for 2 days work on the slopes, playing in the snow...

(was able to find someone on TGR who was an avy instructor that we worked a deal with, but i caught hell for trying to circumvent the conventional system of paying out your bum)
