Back Country Freeride Competition/Fun Day 2009

I am thinking about getting a bunch of people together and mabey host a little competition In Elkford B.C. In feburary 2009. Thinking about the 17,18th(saturday and sunday).

Elkford Is about 45 mins from The Crowsnest Pass and Fernie.

I just want to see how many people would be interested in coming out and having a chance to win some Dough and have a good time sledding! Move through out the basins setting wicked high marks, drops and jumps, boondocking, what ever.

Mabey like $40 per person to enter and we'll move from basin to basin through the day ,and best climb and wreck or something for prizes. possibley a few more depending on how many people want to compete. or just show up to have a good day of riding.

I just want to see how many people would be interested.

$40 per competetor. This way we can have some good winning cash catagories. Sponsors can compete free. This way if we get over 50 competetors, thats $2000 in cash rewards! 100 competetors, thats $4000!

Also Im going to figure out if we can rent the Union Hall and mabey hold a little sunday evening get together and give out some prizes and check out the footage everyone got and meet some new people.

Its on for sure! I am sopposed to remind riders to buy a 1 week trail pass*$15* for the weekend also...I wouldnt worry about it though if you arn't riding in town.

The area isnt like revy and what not where its long pulls. This terrain is extremely steep,medium pulls with tons of cliffs everywhere. Endless avy chutes.

We may change the location In Elkford before the comp if we find a better place.

no money is going to be involved(pay no money, win no money)... But we will have other prizes. like SWAG!
Im going to be getting ahold of many dealers and companies about sponsoring the event and giving away some chit.

Aaron from Sledshot.com (great website) Said he is willing to come down also.

So it is an all out. show everyone what your made of event!. ride, meet new people, wreck some sleds, conquere some mountains.
