Axys weight loss

The easy ones are;
Diamond S's TI can
Zollinger Racing Products (formerly available thru PES, They have merged and are one entity now) Primary cover, Billet starter cup, Flywheel lightening
ALT Impact's TI engine bolt set, TI chassis bolts, TI clutch bolt set, TI Gripper Bushings, TI front and rear suspension bolts, TI front and rear suspension pieces, TI steering post, TI mid-post, and TI idler arm
Happy Face Performance's TI Primary bushing (ID may need to be clearanced) to fit Alt's TI clutch bolt
C3 Belt drive
All steel brackets redone in TI
TI Chassis link (ALT may have this ready by now)
Source a TI replacement for every other steel fastener

I have not done the math, but would estimate another 20-25#'s lighter with these changes. There is a lot more to be had without giving any strength away. Someone in the real Carbon Fiber industry should start making the bulkhead pieces and tunnels. For another 15-20#'s lighter. This and other things would net a 340-350# dry weight sled and 400#'s wet weight RTR.

Slp pipe into titanium can. (Titanium pipe if they ever finish making them).
Lighter seat skinz
Alternative impact rear titanium arms
Rear float shocks
Belt drive since you have a chaincase
Those are the biggest weight loss items available.

Anyone know the real weight savings of the alternative ti front end vs the polaris aluminum one?

If you check out the links, the 36" Ti kit with full front bolt kit and Ti wear bars saved me over 6lbs. I shed more than 11lbs once I did the front and rear torque arms, and Dan still has a few more products available for the Axys to squeeze off some more.

Alt Impact Front End

Alt Impact Skid

A lot depends on your budget and how many lbs you wanna lose?
Best weight loss for dollar would be...
Seat -4lbs
Headlight delete -2
SLP pipe/can -14lbs (pick up a few HP as well)
Lose 20 lbs at less than $100/lb
Fill your oil tank up only half way to make up for real a-arms as well (zbros are good).

Or put the fork down and shed some body weight.....WAY cheaper !

X2

It's possibly the most difficult, but by far the best thing you can do to make your sled "feel" extremely light. A 180lb rider that can bench press 400lbs would tell you that a Yami feels light.

New 280 track

Fox Float3 's (non EVOL) on the front with Alt impact Ti 36" arms...Alt Impact Float3 FTS,EVOL-R RTS and LW wheels.

Skinz Seat, headlight delete.

Belt drive.

CF body panels if Patrick makes them this year.

Ti Can. LW pipe. and all the other things on LH's list.

I'd say that 375 lbs is doable on a 163.

If you really want to be a weight weenie... then go with the WE Air shocks... with upgraded pistons/valving/fluid... and hollow the shafts... IMO, this would be the lightest shock... by far... and they perform decent as long as you are not a hucker or super cold weather high speed trail bump basher.... and I'm sure I'll catch some guff for this... ha!

Its all good, I'm not afraid of a cheeseburger picnic either. Plus my muffpot probably weights more then $2000 of weight savings lol.
I'm 6' 2" and 200 lbs, but I would rather spend the money on riding and not climbing an extra 10 ft and losing 50% value on aftermarket parts purchased, but they sure look kool !

Here are some pics of a pro we did a few years ago. Got it down to 360 lbs dry. It is one of the funnest sleds I have ever ridden. Would be fun to see how light we could get an AXYS. Here are a few things we did, I'm sure I will forget some.

PAR 1100 (we went with carbs, you loose quite a bit of weight by getting rid of the fuel injection and all the wiring. We did gain most of that back with the 1100 motor though.)

Removed oil injection.

Carbon fiber body parts, hood, tunnel center and tank.

Alternative impact A-Arms.

Challenger 3 inch pitch track.

Ti bolts in motor and chassis. (it is amazing how much weigh you can loose here, I would have to check my notes but i believe it was 10 lbs.)

Drilled out the holes on the brake rotor and slimmed it down some.

Like I said I am sure I am forgetting things but gives you a few ideas. An AXYS would be a fun project let us know how it goes!
