Twins is a waste of time, port, head ,pipe ,controller and good. The money spent on twins is worthless. Not to mention the power range created for backcountry riding would suck... Only saying this bc 2-3 diff known engine builders have talked this over w me...drag race it's doable
Maybe for the only twins available on the market. But, a single pipe per cylinder is more efficient and can be tuned way better depending on the design of the pipe. And any pipe can be tuned for low end hit, mid hit, top end...or overall. So, to me, the right twins simply aren't being made for mountain riding for this sled. But, it's a no brainer that one pipe per cylinder will produce more power...has always been the case for 2 strokes. Just need to right tune on them.
Jim, totally agree.
I've had stock single pipe, aftermarket single pipe and twins over the years.
No pipe is good if it's not tuned to the application.
Period.
I've always experienced more torque and horsepower in twins than single pipes.
