axys suspension vs pro interchangeability SOLVED!

THIS IS FOR RMK PRO AND RMK AXYS>

So after never getting straight answer i deployed my wrenches and tape measure.

SLIDE RAILS
All mounting location holes lined up between axys and pro rails when laid on top of each other.

FRONT TRACK SHOCK ARM
Arm and shock are indentical

REAR TRACK ARM AND SHOCK
We all know the axys rts shock is longer and with that said the mounting location of the weld shock rod is different and the lengths are different. IF you swap the correct rear shock along with the correct weld shock rod and rear track arm it all works exactly the same. Weld shock rod is about 3/4 different in length and the location it mounts is different between the sleds so you cannot just swap weld shock rod between the 2 because if you look close they redesigned the rear track arm with different mounting location just for the weld shock rod. You need to swap it all if you want the same geometry.

TUNNEL MOUNTING
The tunnel mounting distance is exactly the same. The stock pro skid fits axys and axys skid fits pro. You will have trouble mounting if you have the wrong RTS installed in the skid. I had to use pry bar when i had the axys shock installed in pro skid as it is longer and changes how the weld shock rod works. When i tried swapping the weld shock rod between the skids the skid got really stiff then i noticed the different mounting location of weld shock rod on rear shock arm.

I have a few pics i will try and post up later today. It was hard to hold tape measure and camera at same time but you will get the idea.

I am not saying you cant run the axys shock in a pro because it is close but it is not the same geometry. The main reason i did this was to see if i could use the older rails and just swap rails from a 13 to a 16 and the rail mounting locations are the same so yes you can just swap rails. My sks 155 is now a 163 with 13 rails and rear track arm, shock, weld shock rod out of my 16. No need to swap FTS and arm as they are the same. Oh and thanks to TRS for re valve specs because i like how it handles now!

Glad you got it figured out.
Time to put an old torsion suspension in an AXYS and see what happens.?

Thanks for the info

Which 163 track did you go with? I have gone from back to back 163’s to a155 and even though it’s a blast I am toying with running a 163 on it with now either Pro ride or Axys rails. 2.4 tracks are cheap and easy to find and I never felt like it was a bad track. 2.6 are harder to find in good shape.

I am running a 2.6 poo track because it fell in my lap. I am putting a 2.5 challenger 163 sawtooth on my older pro ( had a 2.6 on it before) as I hear they are just as good as 2.6 poo and have to be more durable. I clip all my 2.6 poo tracks. Yes a lot of 2.4 in market cheep but..... for a reason... the 2.6 and (from what i hear) the 2.5 challenger are much better. We have 2.4 axys and 2.6 axys and pros in our group and the 2.6 is better IMHO then the 2.4. Is it worth the cost well i think so. I hate when my buddys make me look bad and laugh at me on radio. Im old and fat and need every advantage i can get. I even went as far as to try the 3 inch 163 challenger on my older pro but i hated it. Sled just wanted to go straight and i ran out of talent quick.

Light torsion springs and Fox zero pros, tipped up rails, on a 3” track maybe a riot. No track lock.

Truth.

I’m a big guy so I always ended up running stiff springs in the torsion spring (falling rate) skids.

Much easier to get the anti-wheelie with a coilover. (Progressive spring)

I swapped

on a 2011 pro 155 rails

to a 2017 pro 155"

Having some ratcheting issues...

Looking at my old rail the adjustment on the track tension was about an 1 to 1 1 1/4 back on the rail. the adjustment on the axys rail is very tight.. almost to the loose setting

Big thing the changed was the drivers down to a 7 tooth my pro came with 8 tooth.

So any one run in to this?

Thinking of going down to the 7 tooth Wahl drivers.. Anti ratchet drivers

Any thoughts

Only happens now in harder, wetter spring snow. 1200 ft.. elev. with 7.5psi of boost too much power?

Anti ratchet drivers are a must with boost.

you could also swap to 8” wheels on the stock axle for more tension adjustment.
