Anyone running any kind of oil besides Polaris ves gold I run legend zx-s2r in all my other sleds which are two 2015 ondy 800 new sled is axys pro Rmk let me know thoughts

I heard some rumors, if your going to run something other than the VES Gold Polaris recommends, make sure you use something with the same pour point.

I Run "motorex snowpower 2T" in all my sleds. Wether it's a skidoo 500fan, or 800ptek/etec, or polaris pro, or axys. Never had any problems. It's a very good fully syntetic oil and it's not so expansive than the factory oils....my colleg is working in Rotax R&D and he says, the much importent thing of the oil is, that is fully syntetic. Otherwise the blend oil will burn until it reaches the cylinder......

Never heard of anyone actually having warranty denied because of oil. Manufactures infer that they can, but is there anyone out there who actually has had a warranty claim denied because they weren't using the manufacturers oil? I'm talking you personally, not that you heard that your brother-in-laws, cousins, step-uncle did...

Difference between the Polaris VES and the VES Race

Anyone know the difference between the Polaris VES and the VES Race other than the price? I bought the VES race oil just because I like to spend money and if it costs more it's got to be better right? :eyebrows:

You haven't heard this because Polaris or any other manufacturer cannot deny warranty claim on motor oil. Unless they can prove that oil caused the failure. Also, if Polaris requires VES for warranty then they have to provide it at no cost. Word

All together now - an OEM cannot specify THEIR oil or deny a claim. Against the law. Fighting it, of course, is another thing.

Regarding full synth in the Rotax comment - up until last year, BRP was spec'ing a dino/synth blend in their etecs. They got tired of carrying the extra SKU, so did their dealers, and losing sales to higher margin full synth, and dropped it. Poof, the spec changed.

Run good oil with the pour point you need. Don't be a jack to the dealer. R E L A X. You'll be well armed.

what about Mystik JT-4 Snow? Looks like its has a better pour point then VES. It says full synthetic on the bottle but the chart shows 70-30. Its almost half the cost too. I run it in my IQR with no problems.

Having spent a few months working with Polaris on a warranty issue I can assure you that a massive run around is possible. Having a good dealer probably alleviates some of this but if you blow a motor, and you were using someone else's oil, you stand a good chance of having a long, drawn out claim and resolution. Hopefully you have a spare sled you like to ride... LOL

Most people will run whatever they want and it will work just fine. I agree, I don't see a bunch of blown motors anymore, and haven't heard of any denials due to oil choice.

I do know that it is easy and affordable to have my dealer refill my VES jugs every few weeks and it should remove the oil question from the failure equation should I need to go there.

You are correct about specifying their oil. In my owners manual it states Oil Recommendations. I guess some people get confused on that, and I can see why. As far as what oil, we have gone back and forth with Amsoil Interceptor and VES. Don't use Amsoil Dominator.

I believe Amsoil will go to bat for you if you have any problems with a claim.

AMSOIL stands behind its products and the people who use them. If the OEM claims use of AMSOIL products violates the warranty, contact AMSOIL Technical Services (715-399-TECH).

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket or recycled part... The manufacturer or dealer must show that the aftermarket or recycled part caused the need for repairs before denying warranty coverage.
