Axys engine..... Any good?

So I'll start off by saying I really like the power and handling of the new Axys RMK. However I have owned the following sleds - 09' Dragon, 12' PRO, and now a 15' PRO. No need talk about the Dragon, we all know that noise. The 12' PRO had nothing wrong with the engine I just bent up the chassis to the point that I could not get it to handle correctly, and only had 900ish miles on it. So now to the 15' PRO, 750ish miles and need a top end (low on compression). Always let them warm up to proper temp before taking off (very annal about this after the whole Dragon fiasco). So to my question, in all honesty have the Axys engines been going past 1'500....2,000....2,500 miles of real mountain riding?

850 on my Axys and it rips! I guess I was lucky. I had a D7 (3600 miles), D8 (2600 miles), 2011 Pro (1500 miles), 2013 Pro w/ turbo (1400 miles) and never lost a motor in any of them. I think the warm up thing is bigger than most people know. The sleds that I did see burn down happened in very cold temps with the guys not warming up well.

I haven't seen any Axys motor failures in the Polaris section. I'm sure it has happened, all motors are subject to fail, but hopefully the percentage is low. I think the advantage Doo and AC had in years past was reliability. I don't think that is the same anymore.

I have close to 100 mountain hours on my Axys engine. I had the power valves out for a cleaning a couple of weeks ago and the pistons still look great on the exhaust side and wash on the crown was perfect. Still out pulls the ski doos in the group, runs like a champ.

I had been trading up every year because lets face it, the Pro motor needs a top end every season when you ride 1200-1500 miles in the mountains. I will probably keep this sled a second season it has done so well. I think the 800HO is solid.
