Axys cutting out throwing code 51 10

Hey everyone,
I've got a 16 axys 800 with a Silber turbo. Sled has 1300 miles on it now, ran great for the first 1000 then broke a power valve cable and it's been having issues since. I replaced the cable and brought it to the dealer to have them relearn the PV positions. I also had them check and adjust the TPS if needed. They said they had to adjust it a little. The sled is now cutting out pretty bad. The issue appears once the sled is hot, really won't do it when cold. Once hot you can get the sled to engagement then back off the throttle a little and it will cut out and almost die, if you hold the throttle still it will continue to do this. I've replaced the 3 relays everyone talks about with no difference. I also located a small nick in a ground wire for the stator (at the plug in the bag by the oil tank) the plug was very difficult to get apart almost melted together slightly. I cleaned this up and taped it but no change. The last ride I noticed my hand warmers were hotter then normal. It is also giving the code 51 10 which states abnormal rate of change for tps. I'm hoping someone can give me some ideas as to where to start. I don't enjoying y chasing electrical issues but looks like I might have to. I need to.start with checking the TPS I'm sure but I have a feeling that's not it with the issue being heat related and the hand warmers being abnormally hot the other day.
I'll try and post a video of what it's doing as well.

Thanks

From Service manual:
"Sensor Signal changes too rapidlyto be correct. The condition can be caused by intermittent connections causing the TPS voltage to jump around between readings. Check for damaged connectors or wiring."

Along with bad grounds, chafed wires, etc, look at the TPS and see if it has a dead spot when you sweep slowly through its range. This can be done on digital wrench or with a good mulitmeter.

Here is a link to video of what the sleds doing. Will be doing the sweep check in TPS to confirm it is good as well. Should note sled runs fine at mid and full throttle. Just a handful in the trees when it dies when you let off and go to get back on it! I did check the TPS connector in the bag by the oil tank it looked good.

Didn't have much time to work on the sled today but did the tps sweep test and it looked fine.

Any advice on checking for bad wires? I just swapped coils, voltage regulator, capacitor, and several other parts to see if anything easy would work. Issue is still there. Tried to test the stator and it seems ok as well. Guess it's time to chase wires and double check the TPS is good.

TPS fault 51 10

Had the same issue with mine last month.... Active fault 51/10 and engine cutting out. Turned out being a broken terminal/wire inside the TPS connector. Take a close look inside the connector. Mine was the signal ground wire. Good luck!

Sweep test must be done with an analog style meter. Hard to tell sometimes if there is a break in them, but I went through 5 of them of my pro / turbo.

I did the sweep test with an analog meter. I just moved up to MT so don't have all my tools here yet so I didn't have a digital multimeter which is why I had a dealer set the TPS a while back. I just broke down and bought a digital multimeter to check there work before I got to far into this thing. They had the idle at .700 and base at .438. adjusted it and things seem better will test this afternoon or tomorrow. Hoping it's not a bad tps but we'll find out.

Code 51 4

I just came across code 51 4 on a customers 2011 Pro-- voltage below .7V here is how I solved it may find something similar in yours.

I unplugged the TPS and confirmed that the ECU was sending 5.00V signal voltage to TPS-- check.

Confirmed signal voltage line had continuity back to 26 pin ECU plug-- Check.

Plugged TPS back in and backprobed signal voltage at ECU. .94V @ idle..... But still getting code 51 4.

hmmmm.......

Pulled orange plastic cover off ECU plug on main harness to inspect. Socket 6 (sensor ground) and 7(signal voltage) both looked stretched out or enlarged-- probably from using too large a caliber back probe. Re-compressed sockets and reconnected with ECU and cod went away.

If you have a loose/intermittent connection there, the ECU could see fluctuating voltages and throw a code for abnormal rate of change.

Sled ran great for probably 10 miles after TPS adjustment then intermittently started cutting out again though not near as bad. Will do those checks murph,

Thanks for the pointers guys.
