Axys 800 cracked cylinder

Not sure if it's a bad casting and that caused it to crack or if it just cracked.

Just looks like a casting mark to me.

yup its NOT a crack, casting line for sure , hit it with a carbide burr and polish it it will be gone if you dont like the look of it

It's a crack it's leaking antifreeze.

Polaris needs to redesign that motor. They need to believe in the fixes the aftermarket has. But, if you play it safe and go the correction. I'm sure they'll void warranty.

So there is a crack on the casting mark and all of a sudden the whole motor needs to be redesigned? Who knows the jug could have been dropped. Besides there have been very little failures since 13, we asked for a more reliable and powerful motor and we got one. I've had an 11, 14 and now a 16 and they have all run flawless with the 16 being the biggest rush to ride

Likely something else going on with that cylinder to leak the water jacket like that at the base gasket. There may still be an external crack, but there's more going on inside.
