Avy Classes?

Hello I will be new to riding starting this coming winter and am wondering about avy classes. Are their certain clubs/courses however they work that people would recommend taking one at. Also approx. how much does a class cost to take.

check out avalanche1.com and take his 4 hour avalanche awareness class. its usually $50 and well worth it. Mike does a great job teaching and usually has classes all over the country. you can PM him also snowww1

Thanks guys for the recommendation on my class. Working on the schedule now and it will be finalized by Hay Days. Lots of new things happening this year. Looking forward to snow!

Zacs tracs in Canada has a great basic class and field session. I can't quite remember bit it's something like $200 for both. In class is 16hrs and field sessions is 1-2 days also. Took this course a couple years ago, was excellant in expanding my knowledge of the terrain and snow cond.

Looks like I'll have some avalanche classes in your area. Schedule should be released in early September. Just have to confirm dates.
