Gotta keep this thread up!!! Another thing I look at when climbing is what happens if it does slide...is it going to take me into a bunch of rocks/trees, or off a cliff, etc. Also where is the group you're with sitting...is it far enough away that a slide caused by you won't bury them? If your friends get burried, whos gonna save who? I'm sure someone will post that if there's a question about the slope at all, don't go there. But the fact is, we himark and as stated above, EVERY slope has the potential!!!

Very smart thing to do. I always analyze the same things. Knowing the fall line and your escape routes is imperative. I am very aware of rocks and trees when climbing and try to avoid climbing above them. When I climb a slope, I assume it will slide, that way if it ever did, I'll be better prepared.
