Looks like another slide up Farmington canyon on the Morgan side. I have been watching life flight come and go. Does not sound good on the scanner. Pray for everyone.

And people please STOP CLIMBING IN BAD PLACES!!!!!! The snow pack just flat out sucks.

Please post more info as we get it. I'll keep them in my prayers. Play safe guys.

Listening to the scanner and a second air med is in route. NOT GOOD............

Slide happened around 2pm, that is when I got a call and saw life flight come around to land the first time.

KSL reports that the rider passed away. Thoughts and prayers out to the family and friends. Please be safe out there

Was he alone?

News just reported the sledder was alone... or that others could be buried that they don't know about yet..

Anyone know anything??

News

A snowmobiler died Sunday after being buried in an avalanche in Morgan County, police said.

The man was riding on Francis Peak, in the northwestern part of the county, when the slide buried him just before 2 p.m., said Morgan County Deputy Sheriff Derek Engstrom.

At least one friend who was with the man dug him out. But a medical helicopter crew could not find a pulse when they arrived about 2:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead an hour later.

The avalanche occurred just below the Francis Radar Station on the mountain. Avalanche danger was considerable Sunday, according to the Utah Avalanche Center.

The Salt Lake Tribune will bring you more information as it becomes available.

I just talked to Shainer....he didn't ride today. He said it is 2 guys from Bountiful. Chad (ACG) was looking for someone to ride with today. Any word from him?

News said that the rider got to close to the cornice and it broke off and he fell with it. Looking at the slide I can see how this happened. The slide is very large and went over a very large cliff. Sad for sure..... The sled was still sitting in the slide debris when I looked up an hour or so ago.

42 in this one

"When the finally got him out, he was not breathing, no pulse. From all we know he was a 42-year-old male from the Bountiful area. I don't have any names or anything yet. Once they got him out, they worked on him for a little while but I don't believe he was ever revived," said a crew member.
